About this listen

Save the bees, ride a rock star.

Formerly famous...and planning to keep it that way.

After my band kicked me out, I ran away to Vermont, changed my name, and kept my head down. So far, it's working and nobody knows who I am. Or who I was. Until I see geeky poet Caleb stumbling through his first open mic night and I can't help rescuing him. He's as sweet as the honey my bees make and sexy enough to make me rethink so many things. But I can't tell him my secret, or I'll lose the anonymous life I worked so hard to build.

Everyone warns me he's too good to be true.

I can't believe a gorgeous, successful winemaker like Tag is into shy, geeky little accountant me. But he helps me blossom and believe in my talent, and works his way into my heart and my bed...not necessarily in that order. I'm falling for a man for the first time, and now I know what the missing number in my equation has always been.

When lies are revealed, though, someone's going to get stung....

Contains mature themes.

Amazing narration! Sweet story.

This was relatively low angst and sweet — almost too sweet at times. The narration of the two distinct characters by one performer was sensitive and believable — such a feat!

Wonderful narration

This was story experience 2.5. The first time reading I pushed through, the second time reading was DNF, and this time via audiobook I finished. I hoped the audio would changed my mind, and the narration was AMAZING, Without a doubt, I loved the characters emerging as individuals. What I couldn’t shake was the feeling that this story would have been written as a MF story, and the female part was subbed out with a guy.

This Story was Annoying

I don’t usually FF through an audiobook, but I had to with this one. I felt like Caleb’s reaction to Tag’s secret was too dramatic. How did his secret about a past that hurt him (Tag) become betrayal to Caleb? Tag went through an extensive amount of energy to hide his rock star past to include changing his name. After dating Caleb for a little over a week, he’s just supposed to throw ALL caution to the wind. The fact that Caleb made the omission of Tag’s past about himself annoyed me and I was over it. The story disappointed me. Greg Boudreaux does an excellent job with his narration, per usual.

Oh my heart for Caleb and his poetry!

This was such a cute story with an even cuter little butterfly of a character in Caleb. Even with the narrator’s skill, I fell in love with his cuteness in the voice he provided. And the former rockstar Tag, be still my heart with him and his need for someone to just love him. Great read/listen!

overall it's a good story!

My only issue is the narration for Caleb. He made him sound like a squeaky tiny teenager.

The only bad book in the series

This book reminds me why I don't date feminine queens. The unjustified drama was a headache listening to. Couldn't finish the book.

Good story

This was a nice story but the conflict was a little childish. I mean I get that they had to be a part for a while but the reason could of been better. But still it’s good story

So romantic 🥰

Such a sweet, low-angst romance. Caleb's chapters really brought back that feeling of falling in love for the first time. This is going in my favorites!

Good narration. Decent story.

E Davies' books usually have honey sweet romance and bees. This book did not disappoint on either one of those subjects. The story also had a character with some diva-like personality traits, and it isn't the one you would expect.

I enjoyed parts of the story, but the main conflict didn't work for me. I don't view withholding personal information as a lie. Especially when that personal information is associated with traumatic memories.

Overall, the narration was performed well, but I didn't like the faint lisp for Caleb. I am sure that the it suited the character, but it is one of the few narrating techniques the narrator does not excel at.

I like Davies' sweet and romantic storytelling approach, and I appreciate the variety in this series. This wasn't one of my favorite books, but I did learn something from the story so it was worth the read.
