God i love this series and this book was absolutely amazing but it kills me a little inside at the same time. I swear i lost 5 years off my life due to gut wrenching anxiety this whole book waiting for the shoe to drop. I knew it would come but still wasnt ready for it.... No spoilers its just hard not to rant. I guess thats what reddits for.... Anyway, this installment of the series was very well executed. I see alot of comments already complaining about TGR taking over the whole production instead of having different voice actors for each POV like the last 2 books. Im actually in agreement with that opinion but to a lesser extent. I loved mustang and lysanders narrators (not a fan of lyrias) in the previous book and would've loved it if they came back but the thing is i seen plenty of comments complaining about all the different narrators on both of those books so i guess PB figures he cant please everyone so hed go with the cheaper option and i dont blame him. I feel like i was the only one who applauded the choice of multiple actors. If you enjoy something about a production let it be reflected in your ratings and comments so the creators will know whats popular. Not just when you DONT like something or else only the negative voices will be heard. Anyway i feel if the whole show had to be laid at anyones feet im glad it was TGR cus he is a marvel. As for the actual content of the book, it was beautifully written, consistent with his previous works but with alot more sentimentality, warmth and light than the previous books which i was really greatful for. Pierce Brown is so gifted at pulling emotional strings im glad he spent so much time on matters of the heart and relationships in this book. It was touching and moved me. But like i mentioned above i drove myself insane with worry the whole way through because i knew peace can never last in his works... their just too gd believable and puts humanity and all its flaws under a microscope for all of us to bare witness to. The evil of man but also the light and strength and power of hope and will. Amazing book. Enjoyed it and will be crying in a corner for a while... maybe its a good thing theres years between each book release. Gives us time to recover.... I also wanted to mention how greatful i am that PB recognized he couldnt give us a satisfactory ending in the limited space of one book so instead of just saying screw it and writing something sloppy and unsatisfying (like some authors i know) he adapted and is giving us another book in order to have the proper amount of time to finish things properly.

Pierce Brown's Red Rising Saga is one of the most captivating audiobook series I have ever listened to and I have experienced over 1400 audiobooks so far. The writing is superb, fast-paced and visceral, the characters are complex and flawed, but also driven by ambition and fueled by hatred for each other. I was enthralled by every new adventure set in this dark universe and I always recommend Red Rising by Pierce Brown to anyone who asks me for good sci-fi series suggestions.
Light Bringer is the thrilling, highly anticipated and much awaited sequel to Dark Age. Darrow, aka The Reaper, is a legend, born of the red soil of Mars and leader of the resistance, but he must now use all his cunning and courage to defeat the enemies that are hunting him, his family and friends across the galaxy. All our beloved characters are back, except for those who met their brutal ends in previous installments of course, and they will face new dangers, old foes and fight for their survival in another epic adventure.
The entire Red Rising Saga is skillfully performed by the amazing Tim Gerard Reynolds, one of the best and most distinguished narrators in the audiobook industry. He brings every character to life with passion and professionalism. He uses different voices, accents and subtle changes in tone and rhythm to help the listener easily identify who is speaking at any given moment.
I can definitely see some listeners having problems with the fact that in previous books we had multiple narrators giving life to some of the secondary characters, but I actually prefer single narrator performances, so for me it was quite OK. I think that the recording quality could have been better, but Maybe this can be improved at a later date by just adding some more base to the voice.
If you love well-written science fiction stories filled with unique characters, intense action, bloody battles and unexpected plot twists, then I strongly encourage you to check out Light Bringer and the whole Red Rising series.
Light Bringer is another five-star release by one of the best science fiction writers of our time.

Love tgr but such a mistake to lose voices

What else is there to say. Revolt and fix this. We all make mistakes. Help.

Everyone sounds the same... Until around chapter 7

I stand by my initial review of the first 8 chapters. The audio is off the voices are off, then it suddenly becomes a lot better. I don't know what caused the first few chapters to be so off in tone and quality but TGR can still deliver the goods!
For such an epic book the Narrator really doesn't seem like he wanted to put in any effort.
Everyone sounds like drunk Darrow. The ladies, just Darrow, the narrator barely even attempts to change his pitch.
Lysander, yup, just sounds like Darrow. No hint of petulance in his voice. Just a slightly drunk Darrow.
Virginia is just another Darrow. Pax, Victra, Sevro, Electra, and everyone else read in the exact same voice. Darrow.
Very disappointing.

so far

what happened to darrows voice? he changed it. why? last 2 books was perfect. first 3 was brilliant. now sounds like he hes de-aged. its better once after 5 hours or so. brillant so far other than darrows "new" voice. his voice does get better later. I miss Virginia's voice actor so bad. she was amazing. Endure my Love, Endure. also LUNE MUST DIE!!!!!!!!!!! like a terrible death. like light that MF on fire and let him get impaled up the @$$ with a razor. if hate him so much it hurts at this point. Killed Alexander, killed the morning knight, tried to kill thraxa, darrow, and all the remaining Raa's... yeah let him die horribly

An amazing addition to the series. I enjoyed the return to one voice actor. I can’t wait for the next one.

Finally!

I’ve been listening to audiobooks for awhile but the red rising series is by far the best series I’ve listened to. I was just growing accustomed to having other voice actors but I’d rather have TGR voice all of it. Very excited this book is finally out!

Lengthy, but a worthy addition

Some sections are questionable, like the editor just couldn’t convince Pierce Brown to cut something. That being said, this was a worthy addition to a beautiful series. Performance is fantastic. I never thought I would miss multiple readers after the last two books missing the mark there, but TGR did wonderfully as always.

Exquisuite

I’ve honestly yet to process everything I think and feel about this book, but I can honestly say if I were forced to choose only one series and one author and one narrator for the rest of my life, Red Rising, Pierce Brown, and Timothy Gerald Reynolds would be it.
This book was everything. EVERYTHING. Darrow found himself in ways I didn’t know I needed. Sevro came Home. Really and truly Home. Virginia, Victra, Thraxa, Kavax, and Volga are incredible. Lyria the character I at long last ADORE. Diomedes is the character I didn’t expect to become so attached to. Cassius is everything. Everything.

Thank you so much for only having this one narrator throughout this time! I’ve struggled with previous narrators in DA and IG; this was perfection. In every sense of the word.
