About this listen

Long Live Dumas!

Would you consider the audio edition of Les trois mousquetaires to be better than the print version?

For me, yes, because as someone who is learning the french language, be able to hear a classic of world literature, narrated in its original language is something magnificent. Moreover, the version in audio enabled me to practice a language that I love. Read a book in any language is good, but listening is much better, i think.

What other book might you compare Les trois mousquetaires to and why?

I think is very difficult to compare a book to another, moreover when it comes to a classic. And then, I love the story of the Three Musketeers, so I think it just another book in the series compares to this - The Man in the Iron Mask.

Which scene was your favorite?

For me, the meeting between D'Artagnah and the Three Musketeers is the best part, because is so funny! There are others good moments, but this was cucial. I think is because i could understant easily too.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but at the same time I wanted to understand what was ouindo then repeatedly was repentindo the same stretch. It's something conflicting ...

Any additional comments?

I love the classics, then I think is worth knowing them - no matter what language. For me, hear a classic that I love, in the original language it was something wonderful.Hear a good book and have the opportunity to practice another language for me is a privilegie. However, I believe we all know the story of the three Musketeers (there are films and adaptations), but nothing replaces know history through books.

A classic to the delight of lovers literature

I am trying to alternate between the English and French audiobooks to study French, and it is very difficult to remember where to restart in the French version since the tracks do not change each chapter (usually my hands are busy while I’m listening, so I can’t always stop and note the change of chapter mid-track). Please fix this issue - the audiobook is wonderful!

Track divisions do not reflect chapters!

Great narrator! Almost as good as the Count of Monte Christo but not quite. Looking forward to the sequel
