Publisher's summary
Based on the award-winning animated short film, this poignant, touching, and uplifting picture book about grief reminds us that loved ones never truly leave our side, and that they can even take shape as tiny, little dragonflies.
When Celine’s best friend dies, she decides to wear a dragonfly bracelet to keep her close. After Celine and her family escape a car accident unharmed, she realizes she has lost the dragonfly bracelet. Rattled by the scary and unexpected series of events, Celine determines they must have a guardian angel watching over them.
Dragonflies symbolize transformation from a physical presence to a spiritual one. All too often we lose loved ones only to wonder where they’ve gone and if we’ll ever see them again. In this true story of life, death, and everlasting friendship, Leah Is A Dragonfly Now helps listeners cope with the loneliness, sadness, and anxiety we may feel after someone we love leaves us. Leah, now a dragonfly, reminds her best friend that she will always be by her side, even if she doesn’t see her, and will always be looking out for her.
“Hi, friend. I’m here with you and always will be.”
A heartwarming gift for older children and adults who have suffered loss and want to stay connected to their loved ones.

Story
The kingdom of Cornucopia was once the happiest in the world. It had plenty of gold, a king with the finest moustache you could possibly imagine, and butchers, bakers, and cheesemongers whose exquisite foods made a person dance with delight when they ate them. Everything was perfect - except for the misty Marshlands to the north, which, according to legend, were home to the monstrous Ickabog. Anyone sensible knew that the Ickabog was just a myth to scare children into behaving. But the funny thing about myths is that sometimes they take on a life of their own.

Sweet story about dealing with death
As a parent, helping my children understand and process death is a big job. This book is a sweet story that handles death in a straightforward but easy-to-process manner. I lost my dad a long time ago - so I tell my kids that when I see butterflies, it's my dad. Now I can tell them our loved ones live on in dragonflies too!

A beautiful look at grief
I saw the animated version of this and definitely had to hear the audiobook version. Grief is a touchy subject for children and adults alike, and this story handles it so well. As someone who has lost people close to them, this audiobook brought me comfort just as the short animation had. It's a great reminder and great way to honor those we have lost.

A touching memory of everlasting friendship.
This story is a great read that helps you recognize that even though someone is no longer here, their spirit is still with you. It is a celebration of the relationships that we have had and the reminders that we see every day.

An Poignant Tale
A moving short story about life and loss that ultimately ends with an uplifting view on moving forward. This story is one that I think anyone could relate to, regardless of experience. And definitely a tale that everyone can learn from.
