They got the english VAs!

Anyone will tell you, hearing the anime voice actors reprise their roles for the audio book is a huge plus. The voice actors for Kazuma and Megumin reprise their roles, as well as others. you will have a hard time believing they didn't get Aqua and Darkness as well.

If you like the anime, you'll love the light novel

It is one of the best fantasy-comedy light novels ever, and it's only the beginning.
Loved the voice acting.
I can't wait for the next one.

Incredible Telling of the story via audible.

My only complaint is they should get the whole cast from Konosuba in on this. Its amazing having Erica/Arnie. But why not also get Faye Mata/Cristina Valenzuela. Please adapt all of the light novels soon! and Please try to get all the voice actors involved!

Unfortunately my guilty pleasure

It's one of those isekai. It's a parody of the genre to a certain extent. It still does lewd jokes, but the cast is strong enough for me to forgive it. And man, is the cast strong. I love every character and their odd traits. What I love most, is that a different series might have them just be their traits. A girl who loves explosions, a masochist pervert, a drunk goddess, and a loser who gets isekai'd.

BUT IT DOESN'T!!!

Even though it does tend to fall back on their traits a lot, they aren't JUST that. Megumin isn't just a stereotypical over-exaggerated wizard anime girl, she's shown to have a real sensitive side and wants to be useful to her friends. Darkness isn't just a masochist who wants to get beat, she has - when allowed - a noble side to her. Kazuma isn't just a pervert, he can be capable when things get dire. Aqua's blue.

I mean come on!

It's the English dub VAs, but they have no energy

You'd almost never notice they didn't get Aqua and Darkness's VAs. Kazuma and Megumin's actors do a great job, except... they read slowly and evenly, without much in the way of the chaotic and elevated energy from the anime. Shouting, crying, angry - they're all read in the same way.

The writing is as fantastic as ever, but the performance is pretty middle-of-the-road.
