Acerca de esta escucha

Koda Perry is a self-made millionaire who can't seem to form his own identity as anything other than a spoiled rich kid. Determined to build his own legacy, he branched out on his own, built a company from the ground up, and became a millionaire before the age of thirty—but for his billionaire father, that's not good enough. In his mother's eyes, Koda's life will never be complete until he gets married and has kids. All Koda wants to do is live his life the way he sees fit on his own terms. One of his proudest accomplishments is the Millionaire Boys Club, a group of millionaires who look just like him: Black.

Koda's motto is work smart not hard, and he finds a reason to celebrate often. But when an unfortunate accident sits him down and humbles him a bit, rather than making him better, Koda gets bitter. His entitlement starts to shine through. Koda's antics might intimidate a soft person, but life has hardened August Logan to the point of no return. As long as Koda pays her for her services, she couldn't care less about his attitude. Numb to the BS, she does her job and collects her bag.

Until Koda starts to rub off on her. Some days she finds herself enthralled—others, she finds herself triggered. Something really good or really bad could come from the two of them being forced into close proximity.

I love how the author deals with mental health and insecurities in this book. Most people have them and do not hand,e them well. In doing so they don’t seek help and break many hearts along the way, I am glad Koda and August worked through them and didn’t take long to get their HEA.

Not bad

I loved the story n both narrators were perfect 🤩 but I am most impressed by the tremendous improvement of my man Myles!! I’ve listened to him in the past n almost had to stop listening bc he read his lines like rhythmic poetry which was so annoying. Now he’s become book bae #4 right up there with Emmanuel Jakobi & Winston 😍 I’m soooo excited I didn’t want this book to end!

New book bae😁 😍😍😍

This book had me wanting more immediately. I loved how Koda and his family, as well as August stepped in when his son was dropped off. I can’t wait for book 2. Myles Washington and J. Shani Michaels did an excellent job.

Koda Koda KODA! 🔥🔥

This was a well written story. Love, real life, friends, family, and work life. Balance it all. August suffered greatly. Depression is real. Seeking help, sticking to the plan, and staying the course are not easy if you’re don’t have an immediate support system. AND you have to use them. Koda, men and their toys. Great narrators. Great p ice of work.

Accepted and loved!!!

I read this book about a year ago, I think- so I couldn't remember all of the parts but what I did quickly remember early on is how much August got on my nerves. When Koda told her to "get over that ish" I clapped out loud. I get it, loss is hard in real life- but in the fictional world, and as as reader, I didn't enjoy her woe is me self for most of the book. It was too depressing and gloomy and unpopular opinion, Koda should have left her to heal alone after she told him her life story and triggers. Since that did not happen, we got what we got from this book and thankfully they ... well she finally got her life together so they could have a HEA.
