Publisher's summary

I'm an adventurer, not a girl-dad.

When you grow up with a single mom and quadruplet baby sisters, you find out two things. You can change two diapers at once, and you don't want to. Anyway, my job was finding gold. And however much I liked New Zealand, it had already been explored.

Now, rescuing a woman dressed in a nightdress at a costume ball? That worked for me. And holding her up against the wall, to shield her from the cops, was pure enjoyment.

Driving with her to a barbecue, a fruit salad in my lap, and her twins - her girl twins - in the back seat? Out of my comfort zone.

And that was before she started asking me for dating lessons, and wondering how to explain that she couldn’t have sex before marriage.

I had it under control, though. I was coping. Until those four sisters of mine decided to go looking for their sperm donor.

An Entertaining and Heartwarming New Zealand Roman

Another wonderful unique New Zealand romance from Rosalind James! I initially became a fan of Rosalind James because I loved her sports romance series, often set in New Zealand. Rosalind has a knack for writing fascinating characters with varied backgrounds, so every story is one of a kind. The New Zealand Ever After series has included a variety of great characters with their stories of finding a wonderful life partner.

Kiwi Gold is no exception, with Laila, a widow who had been raised traditionally Muslim, trying to make an independent life for herself and her two young daughters; and Lachlan, an independent geologist who was raised in a non-traditional household. Laila and Lachlan are a study in contrasts, but are drawn to each other from their first meeting. Their relationship story is heavily influenced by the families they were raised in, which add conflict and humor to their budding romance.

A major treat in Kiwi Gold is to spend time with favorite characters from the previous New Zealand Ever After books, especially with Poppy, who is a close friend to Laila.

The Kiwi Gold audiobook was a great listen. Emma Wilder and Tom Janson did an excellent job bringing the story to life - from the friendly banter among friends, to the strained and tense situations to the sweet and steamy romantic interludes.

I highly recommend the Kiwi Gold ebook, and the audibook.

Richly drawn emotional landscape, multicultural romance

With all the books out there waiting to be read, there are only a few that demand to be out on my virtual shelf and reread again and again. Rosalind James’ Kiwi series is that for me. Each sentence is carefully crafted, the words beautifully chosen with purpose and intention. Each character’s journey follows a unique deep and emotional path that rings so true, and changes them for all time in a believable way. They make me laugh, they make me cry. And at the end I don’t want to leave them. The narrators bring the stories to life with brilliant performances. This whole series is well worth listening to, every minute.

Falling in Love...

Another wonderful and fun book by Rosalind James. She has a way of writing twists and turns in a story to make you not want to stop. You'll enjoy this powerful story and cheer on the characters. Her children characters are always so well done. That's the the parts I enjoy the most. This was not my favorite story but still worth listening to.

Great story as always

I love this series and the other series by this author; as always the characters are special and I have fallen in love with New Zealand from listening and reading the many books set there. The narrators are excellent and complement the story and each other.

I enjoyed it so much!

I love all of the Kiwi books! The descriptions of the all the towns and cities make me feel as if I've been there myself. Its actually number 1 on my bucket list because of them. I love how she can take a situation and put so many spin offs in it. In kiwi gold she goes in to religion, death, birth of multiple babies, single parents and so much more. It keeps you unable to put it down. I did lose some sleep trying to listen to just a little but more. I also love hearing the characters from her prior books in them, but if you haven't read them it's fine because it's not a sequel.
As always I can't wait for her next book!!!!!
As for the narrators I always think Emma Wilder is so amazing. She can easily do many voices old, young, male, female. She's one of my favorite narrators.
Tom Janson was a great addition. I didn't think I would like the dual narrators but I surprisingly enjoyed it.
Although I received a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated for my review and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own and I would have definitely purchased it on my own.

Funny and sad and everything in between!

Layla and Lachlan have many family issues to make it through before they can make it to each other . The story of how they do so is funny and sad and everything in between . There are surprises no one could see coming even the main characters. Both of them have issues - all of this together makes a great story that keeps you interested til the happy end . Having it in audio just makes it even better !

Another Great Combination of Story & Performance

Rosalind James has never disappointed me with her stories and this is no exception. This story of Laila and Lachlan contains all the elements I look forward ti in Rosalind's books: importance of family love, good friends, humor, romance, and some spice. Emma Wilder and Tom Janson do a great job of bringing the story to life. As much as I enjoy the story, I equally enjoy the way Emma and Tom brought the story to life. I totally recommend picking up this book.

Crazy Tale!

Even though the story was kind of outlandish, I loved it! I laughed and I cried. Emma Wilder is the absolute best. I always forget all the voices are her. Tom Janson is a good addition to the Kiwi family. Definately worth it!

Kiwi Gold –Time to listen to another Kiwi adventue

This is the wonderful story of Lachlan Hughes, an exploration geologist, and Laila Drake, newborn baby photographer.
Laila is a widowed mom of twin girls. Lachlan is older brother of quadruplet sisters. She loves children, he isn’t ready for children in his life.

Turns out Lachlan is also a new neighbor of Laila. Their lives are entwined in many other ways, through friends and family. Laila decides that Lachlan is the perfect man to give her dating lessons. She was brought up traditionally Muslim, had been married at 18 and now wants to learn how to negotiate through modern New Zealand dating rules. It also turns out that Laila’s father is also an exploration geologist who doesn’t like Lachlan. So begins their adventure.

As with all of Rosalind James’ books this one is a joy to read. Just when you think their road to happiness might happen, another snag comes up. For those who have read the rest of the New Zealand Ever After series, you’ll love the inclusion of so many favorites from past books.

The narration of Emma Wilder and Tom Janson brings Rosalind’s book to life in an amazing way. If you loved reading this book, you will love listening to it even more.

Amazing Audiobook

I read the ebook but the audio version was amazing. I connected more by listening to the accents, the characters, and the emotions really came out.

Emma and Tom did such an wonderful job bringing the Characters of Laila and Lachlan to life and the kids, simply amazing. I just love listening to Laila's twins they are adorable. Laila is widowed and has twin daughters, Lachlan lives his life as an adventure and has not interest in marriage or kids especially after helping raise his four sisters. That is until he meets Laila.
I enjoyed listening to this audiobook and learning a bit more about the Muslim culture. I love how Laila's daughters fall for Lachlan as quickly as she does, maybe even before! The road was rocky but so worth it in the end.

I received a free copy of this book in return for doing an honest review. I was not compensated in any way, nor was I required to leave a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.
