About this listen

Kane is a six-foot-seven French Canadian. But, a year ago, he was a wolf.

He'd been in the woods when a crazed, infected man attacked him. The next day, he transformed into a human.

Now, Kane is searching for the Biting Man to get the answers he needs to become a wolf again and return to his pack.

The only one who knows Kane's secret is a troubled young woman named Emelda. She needed out of a terrible situation; Kane needed someone who could drive. Wolves who become humans are terrible drivers.

He also has a problem with moonlight. It changes Kane, but Emelda has only seen him turn into dogs. Usually, rather tiny ones. However, there is one transformation she has yet to see—the wolfwere.

But Kane isn't the only one the man attacked. And while an infected wolf turned human, the people he bit became something else. Something horrible.

Before they can get answers from the Biting Man, Emelda and Kane need to first take down the monsters he created.

Great! Humorous and full of action!

Kane
By Dick Wybrow
I loved this book! It has a giant of a man, French Canadian, that was a wolf but gets bitten by a cursed man that turns him into a man. Now at night, depending on the stage of the moon, he turns into a dog. Sometimes a tiny dog, sometimes he turns into a large dog. He has a woman that rescued him be his driver and help him as he tries to find the guy who bit him. There is plenty of action and suspense. Love the crazy characters, the creatures, and the humor! Definitely reading book two! Such a clever novel! Never a dull moment!
Great narration!

A fantastic story well told! Highly recommend!

What a wonderful reverse shifter story (I think). The writing is crisp, the dialog is great, and the characters are fantastic! The pace is quick, making you turn page after page or if you listen(highly recommended) makes you want to skip everything else in your life to keep listening.

Kane

Dick Wybrow conjured a fantastic story named Kane! It's the first in a series giving high expectations for the following ones!
Oh my! This was soo funny in parts I laughed out loud. i was in a doctor office, too! I smiled at the curious, pulled up the book as I was listening to audiobook. I did show the 4 women there that were very curious about a book that had me laughing, so I encouraged them to try it.
Very Well Done!

Such a great story with tons of funny!

The relationship between the “pack of two” was a joy to experience and there was also plenty of action and plot. I went back and listened again right away, because I enjoyed it so much. Sweet yet thoughtful. Highly recommend!!! “He’s French Canadian” was an excuse given when people didn’t understand Kane. I want to use in a conversation—-have to get my friends to read so they will get it! Ha!

Sad Girl and Kane are a dynamic duo

I'm loving this trend toward dual narration, and Maria McCann did a great job voicing Kane so it wasn't jarring when we switched to Tim Campbell. Is there a logic flaw in having a wolf bitten who stays in man shape unless he's in moonlight, whereas humans bitten stay in human shape unless they're in moonlight? I kept getting hung up on that.

The interactions between Sad Girl and Kane are fantastic, and the side characters add richness to the stew. Love this version of found family.

Kane

What kept this story from being great was the stupidity of the female lead. I swear that she did every stupid trope from the slasher movies and did not seem to learn much. There was a lot of action and an interesting plot. However, not a lot of the books questions were answered.

Interesting, engaging and laugh out loud funny.

I'm not one to retell a story in a review and this book has a great story to tell.

When I first started listening to this book, I didn't think I would be able to tolerate Kane's accent. But I kept listening because the storytelling was really good and the story itself was engaging. Before I knew it, I was laughing out loud at some of the remarks made by the characters. The accent did not bother me at all, as a matter of fact, I came to love it.
I found myself listening at every chance I got. I listened while cooking, cleaning, eating and of course, driving.
I will be listening to the other books in the series. The narrators are great as well. I'm so glad I took a chance on this book.
