Acerca de esta escucha

Since the Protestant Reformation of the 16th century, sola fide has been the defining doctrine of evangelical Christianity - and the way a person is justified the defining difference between Roman Catholics and evangelicals.

In this audio, R. C. Sproul examines what justification is according to God's Word, compares the Roman Catholic and evangelical stances on this core doctrine, and discusses the relationship of faith and works - all to show why "by faith alone" is so essential.

As Sproul puts it, "The crucial issue of infusion versus imputation remains irreconcilable. We are either justified by a righteousness that is in us or by a righteousness that is apart from us. There is no third way." Indeed, eternity is at stake. This is a topic that should not be ignored.

Fantastic & glorious Truth!!!✝❤🙏😇 Saving faith is not a mere decision because full & true belief is not something that is simply decided upon, but it is rather something which requires a change in volition & affection. Otherwise it is only something that is hoped for, which is called provisional faith.

Justification = faith alone by grace alone!!✝❤

I found myself to be surprised that much of Roman Catholic Doctrine has found itself in modern-day Evangelical churches.

This was an excellent distillation of the most important differences between the Roman Catholic and Protestant doctrines of justification. It’s a very short book, and Sproul has written on the same topic at much greater length elsewhere, but he does a wonderful job here of being clear about the differences without oversimplifying, all while remaining brief. He takes pains to dispel myths that many Protestants hold about Roman Catholic views on this doctrine, and that characteristic concern of his for precision serves even better to clarify the really important differences that actually are there. Highly recommended for readers or listeners of any theological persuasion who want a brief look at this vital issue, a look which is nevertheless very careful, attentive to detail, and fair to its opposing view.

Clear, careful, brief

It seems that Sproul couldn’t stick to his man made doctrine of "faith alone" instead slipping in a few quick jabs against Catholicism. Why he hates Catholics so much? I have no clue. But I forgive and pray for him.

An artful smear against Catholicism
