Shining Smith stands on the brink of achieving her goals, and yet now she could lose everything.
The presidents of four motorcycle clubs are coming to claim blood sacrifice and to ink her with motorcycle club tats. Her new roadhouse and its charter have to meet their approval or the roadhouse has no future, and neither does Shining.
An injured kid shows up at Smith’s Junk and Scrap, but collapses before he can speak.
A note arrives containing a warning and a plea for help, addressed by someone who knows Shining’s most intimate secrets—her history, her plans, and the names of her friends. The sender claims his daughter has been kidnapped by Shining’s enemies. To keep her secrets, he wants Shining to get his daughter back.
In order to rescue the hostage and keep her junkyard, her roadhouse, her people, and the cats alive, Shining Smith will have to suffer, fight, and bargain her way out of danger. All without accidently transitioning anyone—creating an accidental thrall—no matter how much her nanobots want her to.

Excellent, as always!
So good! I can’t wait for the next one! Faith Hunter NEVER disappoints! Her world building is without equal. Characters you absolutely grow attached to, every book is like visiting friends.

Faith Hunter great storytelling but too short…
Faith Hunter is one of my one-click authors so I was surprised to find out that this was novella sized listen. But while I prefer full length books/listens, the story was on par with Ms. Hunters normal fantastic storytelling & Khristine Hvam’s narration. So, it is definitely worth the listen.

Great story
Wow what a great book. I absolutely loved this book. There’s action, adventure and a little bit of love. I laughed out loud listening to this book. Some books are meant to read and some are meant to listen too that’s what this book is. Loved it

original, great fun, enjoyed this
loved the main character, strong woman, forced into leadership, fighting biker enemies and possibly aliens. really entertaining!

I love this series
Shining is a great character- strong, direct, kind, good morals. The books are short and get to the point and are action packed. I look forward to reading the next book in the series!
