About this listen

Karr is a teenage boy like many others in the galaxy. He goes to school, helps his parents with the family business, likes speeders and droids. But Karr also has a secret: When he touches certain objects, he gets searing headaches and blacks out. And along with the pain sometimes come visions of people he doesn't know and places he's never been.

Karr's parents worry that he's sick; his grandmother is convinced the visions come from the Force. But it's been years since anyone has heard from the last of the Jedi - Luke Skywalker. Are there any Jedi left to guide Karr in the use of his abilities? Is anyone even willing to talk about the Jedi and what happened to them, as their memory continues to fade and the First Order rises? Stuck on his isolated home planet, Karr becomes a collector of historical artifacts, hoping to one day find an object that will give him a vision about the secrets of the Jedi.

When his grandmother dies and his parents announce they're sending him away to a school on the other side of the planet, Karr reaches his breaking point. He needs to know what his destiny holds, and whether the Jedi are involved. Accompanied by Maize, the blunt, unpredictable new girl at school with ties to the First Order, and RZ-7, Karr's solicitous droid companion, he sets off into the larger galaxy to find the truth. His adventures will take him from Utapau to Jakku to Takodana and beyond as he learns more about the Jedi than he could have expected...and about his own place in the Force.

Featured Article: Tap into Your Inner Jedi (or Sith) with the 66 Best Star Wars Audiobooks in the Galaxy

In the 45 years since George Lucas's interstellar fantasy epic Star Wars first hit theaters, the saga has grown to include 12 canonical feature-length films (and counting), a growing number of shows (both animated and live-action), and hundreds of novels and comics inspired by that galaxy far, far away. But there's nothing quite like the magic of a Star Wars audiobook. The stories featured in this collection are as vast and varied as the universe in which they're set.

Wonderfully read story with enough for someone that does not know Star Wars, and plenty for those that have experienced all nine of the movies plus the 2 stand alone movies.
5 stars.

Excellent addition to the Star Wars Story

A teens novel given minor details to an already well known story from another perspective. For the true fan only.

While the characters are likable, there's no real antagonist. there are no real stakes, and there's never really any danger. There's cameos and references galore, and it's a good story about finding yourself. but if you're looking for traditional Star Wars action then it's probably best to look at another title.

Great narration, story is rather bland

this is one that I really wish they would make into a show. So many great opportunities for adventure!

This is definitely a young adult novel. The characters are great and the story was good but didn’t tie much into the movie.

Good story

That was the question my younger teen asked. References to iconic characters and inspirational use of music from the movies laid a nice backdrop to a school boy's quest for jedi and the force. The two main characters gave us an opportunity to explore issues such as honoring commitments, building trust, and developing skills. This audience of 2 adults and 2 teens were entertained during our long car ride.

Is this a real Star Wars book?

I like this story, that explains a little in the expanse universe it take place a little before The Force Awakens. But it also tells a story of a force sensitive teen. check it out if you want something to read.

A fun Y/A Star Wars adventure that relies on friendship and companionship for its strengths. Worth a read or listen.

Very solid book! Lovable characters

I honestly thought this would be too “kiddish,” to enjoy but thankfully I was wrong. This is just a fun and entertaining adventure. Great voice work/narration! Easy to listen to and the time will pleasantly fly by. My only greedy gripe is the last few chapters could of had more room to breath and develop. However, it ties everything together and it flows well. Can be enjoyed alone or with the family.

Quite entertaining!
