It was okay.

I didn't love it, I didn't hate it. It was fine because I bought it on sale for 3$.

Delightful!

Is it odd to call a story about serial killings delightful? Perhaps, but I very much enjoyed listening this story. it is both dark and light. The narrator is wonderful! I love her voice, perfect for the story. Anyone that enjoys the strange, macabre, and quirky will like this tale. It lifted my spirits in spite of the dark subject matter.

a fun and fanciful mystery

this story is a little dr. who and a little Sherlock holmes and lot entertaining.

Not just for kids: Narration Is Extraordinary!

My teen was assigned this to read and he loved it. Needing something different to listen to, I bought the Audible edition and am now a 71 year old Jackaby fan, and I'm not a big fantasy fan in general. Nicola Barber's narration was wonderful and brought the book alive. I've now purchased all the other Jackaby books and stories.

Enjoyed & would recommend!

Jackaby is a truly enjoyable character.
He reminds of Odd Thomas with the attitude of Constantine.
The narrator was excellent with all characters. I would definitely recommend it to anyone

this is a great series. highly recommend and also the changeling series associated with this one.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The story was enticing and left you wondering what would happen next.

More Elementary

This was for more of a younger audience than I expected. Otherwise great fun. Family friendly and imaginative.

Quite good

I'm glad I took a chance on this little book and will read the next in the series. I liked the main characters, the magical creatures, the setting. The villain was a bit predictable and the climax on the gory side. A solid performance as well.

Pretty good

I'm interested in where the series goes from here. I enjoyed the story but I hope there's a bit more action in the coming books.
