About this listen

It's been months since ex-Navy SEAL Jack McCullen last saw his fiancee, Suz Molloy. He was on the other side of the world involved in a grueling black ops security mission for Iniquus Corporation at the behest of the US government. Mission fail meant a special flight home, and an ambulance ride to the hospital where Suz should have been waiting for him.

Something is very wrong, and Lynx might be his only hope.

When Jack rouses from his surgery to find Suz missing, he knows something is very wrong. Led by the psychic "knowings" of his Iniquus colleague, Lynx, Jack risks everything as he desperately tries to reach Suz and the children she's protecting in time to thwart the kidnapper's plot and save their lives.

This time, his mission is for more than love of country; it's for the love of his life-his heart and soul.

Douglas Sabattis

Loved the story development. Suz was bunch confusing emotionally from Love to handling a guy like Jack.
But even if she felt she couldn't make decisions. She did to protect those kid's. Then pulled her own mission to save some kid's. Hero yep.

Fantastic, exciting, suspenseful

I have not a single criticism of this book. In less than an hour I was invested and emotional. First book by this author. Buying more of her work today.

Loved this one!

I really enjoyed this one! It pulled me in from beginning to end and held my attention the entire time! I absolutely loved Suz and how she just kept moving forward and doing the best that she could with what she had in front of her. I loved how Jack supported her as well. He took her fears about Sandy Hook and being a teacher and helped her prepare a plan and have supplies in case a shooter or something happened on campus so that she was prepared. It was fantastic. I loved how he prepared other things for her that she was able to reach back and pull forward to use when she is taken to be brought to the kidnapped kids. This story was well written and flowed well. Suz had been worried about what she could continue to handle with fear for Jack on his missions and then she ends up in a situation that changes how she thinks about all of it. She reevaluates how she looks at what he does and the sacrifice of worrying about him while he’s gone with the reality of needing him or someone like him to come after her and the kids to rescue them. I really enjoyed this story and can’t wait for the next one.
The narrator did a great job with the accents and pronunciations to really bring the story to life as well as the action and emotion of the characters.

I’ve read this book two or three times but the audio is amazing

I was blown away by the performance of the reading of this book. A male voice was PERFECT for this story. This is one of my favorite Fiona Quinn books and the audio version made me love it more. Exciting, fast paced adventure. A school teacher who underestimated her own bravery. You MUST LISTEN!!!

Suspense, adventure, love and a great narration

This very entertaining story is full of suspense, tough adventure, and love between Jack and Suz trying to find a way to work. I really loved the way Jack had laid out a plan for Suz (a teacher) and her first graders to escape in case shooters invaded her school. Some of the terrifying scenes are hard to listen to. I love the narrator's voice and his narration of this story is very good! And of course the happy ending is very good and necessary for me.

A story of strength and vulnerability

When I write a review I try to look at the writing, the storylines, and the pace. In some areas of the story it seemed the pace was slow but looking back it was needed to really get an understanding of Jack and Suz.

I have to say that for a good portion of the book I didn’t like Suz. In fact I nearly stopped reading and was going to bail. Glad I didn’t! She hated Jack’s job and worried constantly about the danger he encountered. She wanted to live in a fairytale rather than reality. Through the ordeal they encountered they both realized their own strengths and vulnerabilities they hadn’t faced.

I liked that the story was told through the eyes of Jack and also of Suz. I liked that the timeframe was clear. Part of the reason I buy an audible book is because of the narrator. Since I have other audible books narrated by Aiden Snow, I knew this narration would be excellent!
