Good story just a bit confusing

The heroine is a little too friendly with most of the brothers. I wasn't sure which one she was going to end up with. But I am going to give the 2nd book a chance.

Great great series!!

I am actually listening to this series for a second time. I first came across it as it was released. I loved it so much that I decided to go back to it! Abbie does such a good job showing the characters as fiercely loyal and lovable while adding the dangerous storyline.

An original twist

Nothing better than finding a new author that you really enjoy and their work is an original twist for you. Can’t wait to continue getting to know Abbie Zander’s and the Callaghan’s

The heroine: Taryn (a.k.a. Kiyara) - she wakes up with cracked ribs and pneumonia, with her wrists and ankles chained to a bed. Her tormented has had her and tortured her for seven months and she wasn’t waiting for someone to rescue her, she knew that she would have no option but to rescue herself. To find a weakness in him and take advantage of it. He was the same man who had killed her entire family, who had taken, abused and raped her for months on end. She had to play him despite her fever. She runs and keeps running, for 10 years.

The Hero: Jake - in Pine Ridge Pennsylvania, Jake is working at his family bar, Jake’s Irish Pub. He has been running the bar for years now. Most of the people that work there are family, except for Kayla, the waitress and his occasional hook-up though she has recently been pushing Jake for a less open and more permanent type of relationship. He and his brothers are all former military and work covert ops for the government from time to time.

The Story: Jake has some specific requirements for the girl he eventually settled down with. Someone feminine but not needy, someone fun and intelligent, good on the outside and naughty on the inside, someone he could talk to for hours and someone who would be there when he needed her, even if they were fighting. Kayla doesn’t fit that description at all, as a matter of fact, it is one of the busiest nights of the year and she didn’t show up to work because she was mad.

Taryn Malone was cold, and her car was out of commission, while she had only ten bucks to her name. She didn’t have any ID or credit cards. She needed a warm place to hold up for a while. When she sees the pub, she gets a sign that this is the place she should be. Jake was in need of help right at the time Taryn showed up and hired her on the spot. He was interested in her from the start.

The romance was good, and the character development was terrific, I loved Jake and all his special ops brothers. I also liked the fact that ten years had passed since Taryn was held captive so even though she was still scared and damaged, enough time had passed that she was ready for a romance. There was a bunch of suspense which was also good.

This audiobook was told in dual points of view via solo narration. It was narrated by Aiden Snow who is one of my all-time favorite male narrators. He has a soft yet very deep voice which is so sexy. I could listen to him for days. He does a great job with this book (and with everything he narrates).

This is the one that started it all!

First time reader of Abbie Zander's books.
I am sold on the whole series.

I fell in love with this series 4 years ago and have listen to it several times it never grows old love this series and love Abbie Zanders she is one of my favorite authors

Dangerous Secrets by Abbie Zanders

When I first read this book Abbie Zanders was a new author to me. Once she got me hooked on the Callaghan’s. It’s been one great read after another. Great storyline and characters. Abbie Zanders is one of the most prolific author ever.

Callahan Series: Jake

This is one of the best Audible listens on every count. Abby Zander writes amazing storylines! The characters are believable and the story compelling, heartbreaking and inspiring all at once. It gives hope, and reminds you that we can overcome… Aidan Snow is my favorite Narrator, and this series is one of the finest I have listened. RRR

It was a decent story.

Overall, a good read. I’ll most likely read the series. The characters are good. I would recommend.

Surprising

A solid plot and wonderful characters woven together by Aiden Snow’s excellent narration. I hope the rest of the series is as good.
