Publisher's summary

It is 1783 in England, and Isabella Deveraux is an independent, fearless young woman who has hardened her heart to everyone that mattered to her, until the night she experiences a disturbing dream about her twin brother, Charlie. On the eve of their 19th birthday, Charlie and his two school mates get abducted by the devil incarnate.

Isabella resolves herself to do whatever it takes to save him, even if that means reconciling with her estranged family and placing her faith and life in the hands of an intimidating mercenary captain by the name of Aiden Townsend.

Captain Aiden Townsend is more than willing to save the lives of three privileged schoolboys, for the right price. Jaded by his own devastating loss years before, Aiden has worked hard to keep his distance from the female persuasion. Then he is introduced to Lady Isabella Deveraux and recognizes a kindred spirit when he looks into her eyes.

As he sails his ship from England to Dublin, with the beautiful Lady Deveraux aboard, he formulates a plan to help her. But if his plan is to work, he must break through the walls that surround her heart while tearing down a few of his own.

Loved it!

What a wonderful story! I finished listening to this book in 2 days, because I just couldn't leave it alone. I felt the narrator did a pretty good job, but at times I felt she was stretching for that different character's voice. She did have a pleasant voice though. I was given this review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

It is wonderfully narrated by Hetty Elliott.

A fast paced novel with lots of adventure....

This is the follow up story in the Jeweled Dagger Series.

This story is about Isabella Deveraux, the daughter of Angelina and Jude Deveraux. Isabella has a twin brother, Charlie. The story begins on the eve of her 19th birthday, with Isabella having a daunting dream. In the dream, her twin and two of his friends are in deep trouble. This ensues with Isabella standing her ground to find her brother and his friends. She will not skimp on the tactics she will take to find them.

In lies a wonderfully adventurous story of the woes she entails on her journey to find her brother. A journey that includes Captain Aiden Townsend, a missionary hired by her grandfather, Lord Stewart.

Read the story for lots of entertainment and enjoyment. I highly recommend this book. I've both read the book and was gifted an audio digital copy from the author. I chose to leave this review of my own volition.
