About this listen

Take a short journey to adventure with Iron Kingdoms Excursions! Each season features six volumes, each containing three very short tales about the people, creatures, and machines of Immoren. The Season One Collection gathers all 18 previously released tales from the first season of Iron Kingdom Excursions into one book. Experience the Iron Kingdoms through the eyes of nine talented authors, including New York Times best-selling author Larry Correia, Hugo Award winner Howard Tayler, and Iron Kingdoms lead writer Douglas Seacat.

Iron Kingdoms Excursions: Season One Collection includes:

  • From Vol. 1: "Straight Shooter" by Aeryn Rudel: Take to the road with the dwarves of the High Shield Gun Corps; "Gentleman's Game" by William Shick: Join an Arcane Tempest gun mage on the dangerous streets of Occupied Llael; "Answering the Call" by Douglas Seacat: Get a revealing look at veteran Iosan houseguard as they face new orders.
  • From Vol. 2: "Scrap Ante" by Howard Tayler: Learn how gobber mechaniks spend their free time on the Cygnaran front lines; "The Last Hunt" by William Shick: Go on the hunt with Tharn ravagers as they track a dangerous beast through the wilds; "The Worthy" by Larry Correia: Travel to the Bloodstone Marches with an invading skorne army.
  • From Vol. 3: "Mouths to Feed" by Howard Tayler: Learn how the reclusive swamp gobbers survive among the bigger and nastier denizens of the marsh; "Tongue-Tied" by Aeryn Rudel: Discover that actions are clearer than words when the trollkin of the United Kriels face threatening strangers; "Weapons of the Enemy" by Orrin Grey: Shoulder the burden of blasphemous magic along with a Vassal of Menoth.
  • From Vol. 4: "Step Outside" by Larry Correia: Go looking for trouble with the most infamous Malcontent from the novel Into the Storm as Savio Montero Acosta does his best to pick a fight.

I really enjoyed having some short stories to listen to on short drives. The readers for the stories are all excellent.

Enjoyable short diversions

Best to listen to while painting or driving, these stories are an excellent way to hear about how some of your favorite models interact on the day to day on the continent of Immoren.

Excellent start for your Iron Kingdoms Fluff

The stories are les than full short stories rather than a start to them. Still the writing is pretty good.

A bunch of good trailers

overall, this is well worth listening to and worth the money. some stories and or performances just aren't as good as others . but, it's still very interesting and fun.

after the exxciting worldd of the Grimmies and the disillusionment of the survival of mankind in Monster Huntets International (along with the quirky twists of Orcs, Agent Frank's, and a.myriad of other interesting characters) this book had uninteresting characters and storing that left me wondering where one ended and where one began and why anything here was either entertaining or relevant.

I will admit that I have not read any other books in this storyline but I was seriously disappointed when I had to start searching for my hidden pain pills at 2AM because I hurt and this is no distraction from a complete knee replacement surgery last month. However, writing this helped decrease the pain!

Big disappointment

I really thought I was buying a short story series. It was not. It is literally small excerpts from books. Very disappointing and pointless.

PLEASE heed title, not worth your time or money

This is a collection of sketches NOT short stories. Literature can be written from the POV of the monster or barbarian. To be worthwhile, it should incorporate a desirable or necessary characteristic, e.g. tenacity, strength, cunning, etc. Many in this collection celebrate only violence and destruction. It has 1 or 2 OK pieces.

Depressing & A Poor Value
