About this listen

This is the first reference book on intelligent automation (IA). Also called hyperautomation, it is one of the most recent trends in the field of artificial intelligence. IA is a cutting-edge combination of methods and technologies involving people, organizations, machine learning, low-code platforms, robotic process automation (RPA), and more.

This book is for everyone - whether you are an experienced practitioner, new to the topic, or simply interested in what the future holds for enterprises, work, life, and society as a whole.

Key content of the book:

  • What is intelligent automation (IA)? Why has the use of IA been expanding so rapidly? What are the benefits it unleashes for employees, companies, customers, and society?
  • How have leading organizations been able to harness the full potential of IA, at scale, and generate massive efficiency gains in the range of 20 to 60 percent?
  • How can IA save over 10 million lives per year, triple our global budget for education, eliminate hunger, help protect our planet, or increase the resilience of society to pandemics and crises?

What you will get from this book:

  • The lessons learned from over 100 IA transformation successes (and failures)
  • The largest publicly available library of over 500 IA use cases by industry and by business function
  • Access to insights garnered from over 200 IA industry experts

Weird side theme

The book took an interesting turn to devote a substantial part of the last section to make a case for universal basic income. Regardless of personal thoughts on the topic, it ended up distracting from the main content of the book.

Very helpful

I really enjoyed the book and I think it can be very useful for different people. The four parts are well organized, and I got something out of all of them. I was also useful to align some concepts and nomenclature. Part 4 is a serious food for thought.

No there there

"IA will do this." "IA will also do that." "IA will change the world." I don't need to hear that 100 times. Just tell me the details. No details. Just "A big company increased sales by 15% using IA." But what did that big company do? No details. Is this just a big advertisement to hire the authors as consultants. Might be.

Very Good Book, easy to understand & digest ...

“Think big, Start Small, and Scale fast” … “IA is a business transformation, NOT a technical project” … is one of many numerous ideas and thoughts this book is listing & explaining … which I recommend to read.
note ... While the authors differentiate this from the well-known AI, I find the knowledge in this book perfectly applicable to AI as well.

IA made clear in our post-pandemic reality

Years ago I remember when the concept of "Event Driven Architectures (EDA)" was all the rage. The aspiration of technology/business process innovations that supported EDA were heralded as the competitve differentiators for high performing enterprises and corporations. Intelligent Automation (IA) is indeed that holy grail. This is a very well researched and thoroughly actionable reference guide. Fun read!

Insightful

Lots of great info by credible sources all in one place. I love the introduction of the idea that we are in the fourth Industrial Revolution.

Appended

Overall the audiobook is good, but it’s refers to many figures and appendix but are not available in PDF format, or at least I was unable to locate. Did not mention many of the available software to assist in automation. Interesting read (listen).
