Good book read by the author

This would have been better if it had been performed by the same guy that read the first book. Would have been 5 stars then. Even with the stupid cliché about republicans being racist.

Great story and give the author a break

I can understand that some people might be upset over the choice the author made to read his own book. It’s his work and he wanted to read it. Yes he is no talented minstrel renown for his voice, but he is trying. A great story

So good it pissed me off

Chase Jackson and co. Are now rotating in my brain like ramen in a microwave. I think about this book series a million times a day and it’s been great to listen to while at work since it’s a mostly physical job that doesn’t require a lot of thinking.

To preface, it was my husband that doomed me into caring about this dumbass white boy and his story, and this is the third time I’ve been introduced to a book series that is well written but with no real media presence. Super Powereds by Drew Hayes only has 83 fics on ao3, Cradle by Will Wright only has about 100, and wanna take a guess as to how many this has? None. Zip. Zilch. Gorchanorov, a fictional movie made into a bit by tumblr, in comparison, has at least 50.

This review isnt even about anything that happened in the book (it was wild I screamed several times puckdaddy I love you so much) it’s just a shame that no one yet has really showed their love for this book series other than a couple of year old blog posts and reviews. Chase and the other characters are so fleshed out I can hear them arguing in the author’s head like the muses and he’s just the poor sap who had to write about compton LA being fucked with because two old bastards got bored and decided to make their divorce everyone else’s problem including the kids they may or may not have experimented on for shits and giggles.

I really, really loved the chris Patton(?)/the previous voice actor and it took a little getting used to the author reading his own book, but by then end (or maybe when puckdaddy was introduced), I was charmed and riveted and really appreciated all the work and dedication it took to get this audiobook done.

Anyways, book two really built on book one, still going through book three with the assisted reader function on kindle (shout out to deaf people) and I’m still losing my minds over the twists and turns found there.

Alan janney you are an amazing writer and also shout out to your wife who probably inspired the most insane romance progression I have ever seen a straight man produce (presumably). Katie, Hannah, and Natalie all had their unique and wonderful moments and I love them all, especially Katie and Hannah’s relationship with each other outside of Chase.

Also, choosing to show Katie’s POV really helped flesh her out/show other aspects to the story that Chase doesn’t see bc intelligence is his dump stat and really appreciated it

Thank you for writing

PS- if I were to make fanart of the outlaw series, where would u want that? I’m planning on posting it to the Reddit that’s been made but if you have a website for the series/any place u prefer just let me know

Alright, this book series is fun and makes me stressed, 10/10

Book 5 stars. Performance 3. But the author would get 5/5...

if he read the beginning like he read the end. I love Mr. Janney's characters and it is fascinating to hear how the author thinks they sound. His rookie performance gets great in the second half of the book.

Great story, bad narrator

Love the story and can't wait for the next books to be recorded, however, not a fan of the narrator. Its like he forgot how he voiced the characters from the first book and some of them sounded so similar it was difficult to tell which character was supposed to be speaking. The school principal was also voiced in a way that made him sound like one of the teenaged thugs and not as an adult in charge of a high school.

If you can get passed the narrator, the story is really good and I've been listening to it every chance I get, not just at my desk but in the car and sitting at home instead of turning on the TV like I usually do.

Please hurry and get the next books recorded! I'm hooked and want more!

BUYER BEWARE. The author thinks he can narrate

The first audiobook is amazing, and so was the performance. But this one is complete dog 💩 and its all thanks to the author and his autistic attempt at voice acting. All his chars have the same voice exepct when he dose this thing where he slows down and talks loud in a Gandalf voice likes its suppose to sound cool and intimidating. But worst of all his neutering of the story. He took a good story with good writing and turned it into an outlaw fan fic all becuase the little flaws and nit-pics are magnified when kermit the frog is reading to you...

I powered through it and if you can too than by all means get the audiobook becuase its still a really good story. If you can't than just get the physical book

Loved the book hate the narration

The author is the narrator for the book and he drained the life out of it. I love the series so far and the author said he really wanted to narrate one of his books but he really needs a lot more practice no offense. The last narrator brought so much life to the book please bring him back for the next one. Please! Or I don’t think I’ll buy it sorry
