About this listen

The future is not ever in motion.

It's all a lie: the thought that the future can be changed. Jayne knows. She's been cursed to watch how the people around her will die, and no matter what she does, she can't change it. That includes Aaron, the handsome English boy who transferred to her school mid-semester and has eyes only for her.

But then a serial killer takes up residence in Jayne's town, and she's on his list.

Finding a way to alter the future has never been more critical.

The first book in the Goddess of Fate series, Inevitable is a suspense novel with a hint of the paranormal. Fans of Bella Forrest will enjoy this new take on an unfamiliar mythology. Romance, magic, suspense - the perfect book to escape into!

Power to see death

Jayne has the power to see deaths. But as far as she knows she cannot change things. It was a charming coming of age tale. I wish book two was already out. I got this book through stoeyorigins and this is my voluntary and honest review.

Enjoyable

I have come to really enjoy books by this author. This book was no exception. I enjoyed the characters and their interactions with each other. I enjoyed the levels of intrigue that happen in this book: who is the woman that appears after each of Jayne’s visions, why is her Spanish teacher so nervous at the police station, who is the serial killer and will Jayne be able to help stop him, can Jayne finally find a way to change the outcome of her visions, why does Jayne even have the visions? The story is well written without giving away too much too soon. I feel the author did a good job channeling a high school age girl’s emotions and level of maturity in dealing with situations. The romance is kept sweet and clean as is the language.

An interesting story

At first I wasn't sure where this story was going. As I read it I couldn't stop. Jane felt cursed. Seeing was horrible when you don't even know how to use the gift. Well written and I loved the characters. I also thought the narrator did a great job. Can't wait to read the next one.

Entertaining

I got this story via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. The story kept me entertained throughout. I got lost once but was quickly brought back into the story. The tension between the characters was well brought out by the narrator, which means it was there in the first place. Loved how the story twisted around itself.

Great Listen

Wonderful!!! The author has a well written and flowing story, I almost didn’t want to go to bed because I wanted to find out what happened next. You have Gods and monsters for sure in this book. The main characters had the ups and downs that teenagers go thru and make it to adulthood. The killer in this book has a few things up his sleeve that will surprise you. I don’t know why she tried to keep secret what she could do. Law enforcement in this day and age use physics a lot, and mediums are on TV. The narrator did an awesome job with each character showing excitement where appropriate. I love books like this that explore the paranormal that can be found in normal people. Throw in a goddess or two and you have a great adventure.

I received a free copy of this audio book from StoryOrigin for an honest review.

Becoming

High school, coming of age, dealing with boys--and paranormal psychic activity. She doesn't see dead people, she sees DEATH! Narrator Lucy Emerson's excellent voicing of the various characters (including a lovely English accent) added intensity to the action and verity to the teens in this well-written tale. I was debating calling it a thriller or a mystery (both elements pertain) but it begins to take on the aura of saga, too. Lovely that most books these days don't quite fit a single category, making them much realer and far more interesting.

Interesting story

I am new to Tamara Hart Heiner’s books. I have a few of her books but hadn’t read isn’t if them yet. So this audible book was my first experience with her writing. I very much enjoyed the book. Although I picked up on a few clues through the book there was still a lot that was unknown until the end. It kept my interest.

Great read

This book was a pleasant surprise. I enjoyed the storyline, and how the author maintained the characters and perspective throughout. The curse and happenings were unique and interesting. The relationship between Jayne and her boyfriend was fun to read, and not overbearing. The magical abilities and build up to events was detailed and well written. I was given a copy of this audiobook for free and chose to review on my own.
