About this listen

A smoking hot standalone romance in the small-town Harbour Village series featuring a single dad, a nanny, and an accidental pregnancy...

I know Tuck Monroe is trouble the second I walk in to interview for the nanny position. Six-four and covered in tattoos, he's distractingly hot. He's also grumpy as hell. But I need to pay for school, so I take a job as his daughter's live-in caretaker and move into the apartment above his garage.

I fall hard for Katie, his adorable four-year-old. But I never expected to fall for my new boss, who's a decade older than I am. Turns out there's a heart of gold beneath Tuck's broody exterior, one I work to reveal bit by bit. Casual small talk leads to late-night conversations I can't get enough of. It's no surprise our simmering sexual tension explodes with one deep, toe-curling kiss.

He tells me I'm his good girl; I tell him I love the praise. We give ourselves one night, and one night only, to explore the fiery attraction between us.

It's the best sex of my life. But when I wake up, Tuck is gone, and life goes back to normal. Or at least I think it does until I start to feel nauseous. Turns out I was right: my boss is trouble. The kind that comes with one night I can't forget and two pink lines that will change our lives forever.

I Wish You Were Mine is a standalone romance in the interconnected Harbour Village series.

Loved Tuck and Maren in audio!

Ardently in love with Tiny and her Superman! I Wish You Were Mine by Jessica Peterson was a sweet, spicy, and swoony single dad, accidental pregnancy romance that pulled at my heartstrings in all the best ways. This is book 2 in Jessica’s Harbour Village series, and each new book makes me fall a little bit more for all that Bald Head Island has to offer.

Charlotte North and Austin Stone perform this audiobook in dual narration, and these two embody all things Tuck and Maren. Charlotte’s performances showcased Maren’s upbeat, loving demeanor as she found an immediate affection for Tuck’s daughter Katie, and her instant heated attraction to Tuck. Austin's warm, mellow voice portrayed Tuck’s love for his daughter and deep desires for Maren which made him utterly irresistible. Plus, both brought the HEAT with the dirty talk and steamy sexual tension between Tuck and Maren.

Overall, I LOVED this book. If you are a fan of an age-gap romance with a hot wealthy single dad, a devoted spirited nanny, Bald Head Island, finishing your degree, lusting after your boss, an adorable daughter, cheerleading, dancing to Snoop, a man who can cook, all the steamy times, pregnancy surprises, an advice-giving dad, sailboat dates, doubts, cuddly additions to the family, and a HEA that will make all your wishes come true, then you will love Tuck and Maren’s story. I always look forward to more from Jessica Peterson!

Loving this series so much!

𝘐 𝘞𝘪𝘴𝘩 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘞𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘔𝘪𝘯𝘦 is a sweet, steamy, heartfelt small town, single dad/nanny, age gap, accidental pregnancy romance that had me laughing and swooning. I loved the angst, banter, and passion between Tuck and Maren.

Tuck is a single father to his precocious daughter Katie and is looking for a nanny to help out with childcare. But the one thing he is not looking for is love after being previously burned before. He’s broody, grumpy, and strong-willed, but when Maren enters his life, all bets are off.

Maren is definitely wise beyond her years but is still trying to find her place in this world. She’s smart, caring, kind, and gentle, especially when it comes to Katie. Their friendship blossomed instaneously, and Maren adored and loved that little girl with her whole heart. But Tuck was a different story.

Even though they tried to fight their attraction, they couldn’t keep their distance and caved in, thinking one night would be enough. But a couple weeks later, two pink lines show up, and they now have to figure out how to navigate the abrupt change in their lives.

This book is narrated in dual by Charlotte North and Austin Stone. I’m really glad Jessica stuck to the same narrators to continue this series because it’s a guaranteed fabulous listen. These two embodied and embraced all the angst, banter, and passion between Tuck and Maren.

Charlotte was fabulous to listen to as Maren. She portrayed Maren’s fun, loving, and upbeat personality impeccably. The connection she forged with Katie from the start was heartwarming. Charlotte depicted Maren’s pregnancy between the highs, the lows, the unknowns, and the joyous moments relatable to connect with the character. And I absolutely adored her kid's voice for Katie!

Austin is the perfect person to bring out the southern charm when it comes to small town romances. His warm and melodic voice showcased Tuck’s broody exterior but gentle interior flawlessly. His love and adoration for Katie could be felt through his performance and his walls crumbling down for Maren pulled at my heartstrings. Austin portrayed Tuck’s fears when it came to Maren’s pregnancy, which made me connect with the character on a more visceral level. Austin's ability to show an empathetic side of Tuck that would normally be kept hidden was perfection.

Amazing story with fantastic narration

This is the first book I’ve read by Jessica and I loved this story. She writes amazing characters with fantastic personalities, the dialogue was great and the story was delightful.

Tuck and Maren have an instant attraction but keep their distance since Maren is the nanny to Tuck’s daughter, Katie. I loved the angst, banter and passion between these two.

Although this is an age gap - Maren is wise beyond her years and her and Tuck seem to fit. She has an immediate connection with Katie and their relationship is so natural and effortless.

Tuck and Maren were so good for one another with their support, protectiveness, and compassion they have/give to one another.

Updated 6/13/24 with audio review: Charolette North and Austin Stone deliver an amazing performance. They bring perfect emotion, personality and voice to the characters. I love how narrators give readers/listeners a whole new experience to enjoying an authors words. Well done!

Loved Maren and Tuck

I Wish You Were Mine is a steamy single dad/nanny age gap romance and I could not get enough of Tuck and Maren. The chemistry and the tension between these two was off the charts hot from the moment these two met. I love the way that Maren fit into Tuck and Katie’s life so easily. It was fun watching these two fight the attraction between each other until they couldn’t anymore which led to a surprise pregnancy. These two a few bumps in the road and were able to overcome them with a little help and family. This story was sweet, swoony and I loved every moment of Tuck and Maren’s romance.

Charlotte North and Austin Stone did a great job bringing Maren and Tuck to life. I had originally read this book and loved it all over again in audio. Charlotte and Austin were able to capture the tension, attraction and all of the southern charm between these two. I loved both of their performances.

Perfect Lowcountry accents!

These narrators nailed that Lowcountry Southern accent from Bald Head Island.
Tuck’s voice alone could melt butter!!!

I knew I was going to love these two characters, but man I just didn’t realize how much!!! Tuck is a dreamboat with a tortured soul that’s been burned by love but busts his tail to be the best daddy he can be. Maren, while young, is an old soul that can see straight through Tuck’s BS. She is determined to make a future for herself but along the way falls head over heels for a little girl & her broody daddy. I love the way Maren stands up to Tuck & makes him fix things. Their chemistry is smoking hot & so strong it can’t stop those little swimmers! And Katie is the cutest thing!! I love both the bio family & the found family in this series. Harbour Village is a dream!

Single dad x nanny 🤭

Truly adored the angst and the spice and the wanting that was all wrapped up into this one. I’ve never read a single dad mixed with accidental pregnancy & I loveeeed it!!!

It was so sweet how protective Tuck was of Katie, but it irked me that he legit did not see the other child as deserving of his protectiveness as well!! He was willing to just leave them because he couldn’t deal with the triggers & that made me sad. Also really pissed me off that he decided to propose to make-up for his not-so-great behavior like sir ?? At least DATE her again instead of loving bombing
