FIRST OF ALL, BIRDIE IS MY EVERYTHING. I always find that I relate to a Kayla Grosse fmc but she truly is me. The way she looks at relationships based on past love and insecurities based on judgment from the public eye is so close to home. She is so powerful and I truly just adore her.

Liam is hotttt! I loved seeing him breakdown and pull back the layers throughout the book. My only issue is me wanting him to gravel more. He should have begged that queen for forgiveness time and time again for being a shit.

I loveddd Wren and Ben. They were so cute and loved being able to see snippets of them along with the good friendship foundation.

As far as the audiobook goes, PERFECT!! Grayson Owens never fails to amaze me whenever he hops on a Kayla book. There is no surprise he smashed it out of the park again. Angelina Rocca did amazing! I could hear her talk all day long honestly. Everything was so well done.

I REALLY Liked It Like That

I already LOVED the book and the audiobook just takes it to another level.

Angelina brought Birdie to life! I always pictured her with a raspy, rockstar voice. This was the first audiobook narration I’ve heard with her and I definitely want to listen to more. Her performance is 10/10

Grayson is phenomenal as always. His performance as Liam was fantastic. 10/10.

Grayson Owens can do no wrong when it comes to audio, & Angelina Rocca was perfect for Birdie! They both were honestly, & were exactly how I imagined Birdie & Liam to sound!

Kayla Grosse is one of my favorite authors, & she always gives us great plus size female leads, & swoon worthy men that love them! Birdie & Liam live up to that, Liam more so later on, he frustrated me at the beginning but it played well into the story & his personality/demeanor, so I get it lol!

I really enjoyed this story of friends to enemies to lovers, & bodyguard/rock star! The twist & connection was unexpected too, loved that!

I am a big fan of Kayla’s books, but this was my first audio of hers! I loved the narrators, the performance was great and easy to follow. The book itself was also great! Kayla knows how to write romance just as well as she knows how to write spice - there was a great mix of both coupled with an interesting plot line as well! And the size inclusivity is a huge bonus!

I absolutely loved it. The love story was adorable and the mystery definitely kept me curious and guessing. I enjoyed every minute of listening!

Love a good second chance romance!

I loved this story so much because it really spoke to my love of music and my love of romance! And I LOVE a second chance romance. Seeing people come back together after circumstance tore them apart never fails to make my heart race and Kayla wrote this story perfectly! I also love the tense moments, the heartbreaking ones, and the adventurous ones that fit so well into this narrative.

Also, I think I’m in love with Grayson Owens (or at least his voice anyways). He and Angelina Rocca did an incredible job of bringing these characters to life! They both nailed the emotion and passion of the characters and their stories.

I LOVE It Like That!

You know when people say the audiobook is so good, that’s the version they prefer? Well, I definitely want the physical copy because I must have it, but I have got to say - the audio version is AMAZING. Grayson Owens and Angelina Rocca are quite the pairing and I love them together. They hit it out of the park and I enjoyed every minute. Angelina’s raspy voice is perfection for how Kayla describes Birdie. And Grayson’s inflection is just pure seduction in all the right places.

Now, for the actual book. Birdie and Liam are so swoon worthy one moment, then the next you’re screaming at them to stop being idiots and just get together already! But that is what makes this so good. The tension. The former best friends to enemies to lovers is excellent. The banter. The added layer of suspense! Gah. This is in essence, a bodyguard romance, but it is so, so much more. There are a ton of things to unpack in this book; make sure you check the trigger warnings before you read or listen. One thing you can always count on is Kayla’s ability to write a beautiful plus-sized romance full of body positivity, but not in a toxic way. Birdie struggles like everyone else who just happens to have a bigger body (spoken as a plus-sized lady myself), and I love that her insecurities are shown as well as her body positive thoughts. We’re all human, after all. Last but not least, the spice. Let’s just say … if I was ordering hot sauce from Taco Bell, this is in the ‘Diablo’ category. ;-)

I don’t usually leave comments on my reviews but this book just did something to me. From start to finish it was like my own heart was breaking and reforging as the story went on! This is my first book from Kayla Grosse and it definitely won’t be my last!

The narrators did an excellent job bringing the characters to life. Angelina’s voice is beautifully soulful.
