Gayle Forman
A powerful display of empathy and friendship from the number-one New York Times best-selling author of If I Stay.
Around the time that Freya loses her voice while recording her debut album, Harun is making plans to run away from home to find the boy that he loves, and Nathaniel is arriving in New York City after a family tragedy leaves him isolated on the outskirts of Washington state. After the three of them collide in Central Park, they slowly reveal the parts of their past that they haven't been able to confront, and together, they find their way back to who they're supposed to be.
Told over the course of a single day from three different perspectives, Gayle Forman's newest novel about the power of friendship and being true to who you are is filled with the elegant prose that her fans have come to know and love.

Reseñas de la Crítica
"The narrators give individual strength to three characters who are all lost on their life paths. The narrators' intense deliveries project the characters' shared sense of isolation and the bonding that occurs after a freak accident.... The gripping narrative ends with a stirring song sung by Sasha Abner." (AudioFile)
"In Forman’s wonderfully deft hands, this story of friendship, love, loss and redemption becomes so much more. I Have Lost My Way is a beautifully written love song to every young person who has ever moved through fear and found themselves on the other side." (Jacqueline Woodson, author of the National Book Award winner Brown Girl Dreaming)
"Elegant and understated.... A celebration of the lifesaving power of human connection." (Publishers Weekly, starred review)

The audible has three different voices but even with different narration, I found it difficult to keep track of who is speaking and confusing. It took at least an hour to acclimate.
The 3 storylines are very contemporary and relatable, particularly if you are in your early 20s. The book also has a sweet "YA" feeling with "good vibes" at the end, but overall it was a "rental" B move I wish I hadn't rented.
Summary: three strangers collide. An event brings them together and you slowly learn their individual backstory/what they were each going through and grappling with at the time of the impact. As the title tells, all 3 were at a “crossroads” wondering where they were going, how they got to this place, and most scary: who would love them if they told the truth/were finally themselves and not who they thought everyone wanted them to be. Through their unlikely and strange new kinship they help each other to evolve... becoming truthful/free.
The whole story is a meditation on not being who you are because you’re afraid if you are yourself you’ll be alone, rejected, unwanted... but is the alternative actually better? Because living a lie and living for others happiness is miserable too. “The truth will set you free” is the basis of this book (that and the importance of honesty).
I do think this book could be magical if it hits the reader at the right time in their life. I’d recommend this to college-age readers, especially if they are struggling with being happy and themselves. As a voracious reader/listener (250 books per year) this was a miss for me and definitely more towards the bottom but I still like the author and recommend other works by her.
very contemporary, but a solid "C"

The narration was excellent and authentic, performed by 3 different people.
The characters were well developed and the narrative kept my interest as it built toward the climax of events which happened during the course of one day.
This book may be classified as YA, but it has a general appeal to any human being.
And it has a pretty song at the end.
I can see this being made into a good movie!
I would definitely read more from this author.

We have three stories for three strangers, Nathaniel, Freya and Harun .. each one of them has " Lost their way " but one fateful accident brings them together and thus their adventure begins .. I liked the trio and their dynamic, but I was interested in Nathaniel the most .. I'm not particularly pleased with the representation of Islam in this book and that's what mainly prevented me from enjoying the book to it's full potential, I wish if it was only Freya and Nathaniel
I did finish this book in one sitting and I liked the writing style and I plan to read more of the author's book, I think I will find her other books more enjoyable if it's concentrated on the main two characters
The Narration was also good .. the best one was Freya's voice .. the guys were ok but they were monotone a little bit
Liked the writing style .. and the song in the end
