About this listen

The Boogeyman is waiting to tuck you in…

Rachel's parents have a simple rule: five hours of sleep. No more, no less.

But after six months of this "simple" schedule, Rachel's exhausted mind plays tricks on her. She sees things that can't be real.

Like the Boogeyman in her little brother's room.

When no one believes her, Rachel takes matters into her own hands. But her sleep-deprived state blurs the line between reality and nightmare. Is the grotesque figure with too many teeth just a hallucination? Or is there something sinister lurking in the shadows?

A gripping tale of family expectations and the horrors that hide in plain sight, from Ben Farthing, the “King of Creepy” (MJ Mars, author of The Suffering).

Don't Look Under Your Bed

Once again, Ben Farthing has created a horror tale that burrows its way under your skin. The narration was fantastic. She fit the character voice perfectly

Another Great Entry in the "I Found" Horror Series

This was a good, quick, creepy read. Without getting spoiler-y, Ben did a good job of setting up expectations that he later subverts. I don’t want to say too much, but if you’ve read previous entries in the “I Found” series, you may be a bit surprised by this one as there is a key difference. Again, I can’t say without giving away too much but an expectation I had was subverted, and not in a bad way. If I have a critique, it’s that I’d like it to have been a touch more drawn-out and developed a touch more. As far as gripes go, that ain’t bad. As they say, “Always leave them wanting more.” And Ben does that here. Bravo! I recommend “I Found the Boogeyman Under My Brother’s Crib.”

Another Fun Installment!

I Found the Boogeyman Under My Brother's Crib by Ben Farthing is yet another fun addition to the I Found series, showcasing the author’s knack for creating imaginative and engaging narratives that explore childhood fears. This installment offers a fresh perspective on a typical childhood monster.

What I love most about the I Found series is its ability to present stories that feel unique while maintaining a cohesive thread that connects them all. Farthing has an impressive talent for crafting distinct narratives that explore different aspects of fear and imagination. In this latest book, he takes the concept of the boogeyman and adds layers of depth that make it both relatable and intriguing.

The story expertly captures the essence of childhood anxieties, and I appreciated how it plays with the idea of what lurks beneath a child’s crib. Farthing's portrayal of the boogeyman is clever, allowing readers to engage with this childhood monster in a new light.

While I thoroughly enjoyed the narrative, I did find some of the character motivations to be a bit bizarre. However, this minor issue did not detract from my overall enjoyment of the story. The charm and creativity of Farthing’s writing shine through, and I was captivated by the unfolding events and the unique perspective on a familiar theme. I can’t wait to see what Farthing “finds” in his next story!

TW domestic violence

The writing is excellent. The story is gripping and plays upon just about every childhood fear in the best of ways.
It's a story essentially about child abuse though so please know that before reading. I felt a little blindsided by that and it took some of the fun out of a story that I otherwise enjoyed.

I'm mad that I spent $5 on this.

This would have been a decent creepypasta, but a short story, it is not. The author sped through the ending and left too many questions unanswered. WHY was the a tunnel connecting the two houses? Why do the parents restrict their kids' sleep??
