So proud to be a strange reader. I discovered Ben’s work in the books of horror group on Facebook, and I have now read four of his works. I love his stuff. So much fun. The story was exactly the creepy little twist I wanted for my holidays. Cosmic horror is something I’m usually not comfortable with, but this was fantastic, and the way it was written from a child’s point of view made it so sweet. I fu***ng love Christmas!!!! Douglus, are adorable little protagonist just wants to bring back love to his household, and remember what it’s like to not feel empty. The year before his sister passed away, freezing to death after trying to see the Christmas lights. Douglus sweetly wants to decorate to remind his parents about how much they should love Christmas, the emptiness inside of him unwittingly seems to unleash a holiday based evil. he and his friends must stop it. The story is fast paced and very engaging. Thank you so much Ben.

The Color Out of Christmas

The influence of The Color Out of Space is apparent from the beginning with the descriptions of the lights and colors, while the plant and body horror elements give a whiff of Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Well written with believable characters who actually act like children their age, tackling an emotional subject that isn't explored very often in fiction. Themes about loss, the trauma it can cause, and not just how it affects the way you interact with others, but how others treat someone who has experienced loss. How that treatment starts to feel like it defines who you are, and the desire to start healing and moving on when others won't let you. To not let the pain sour your memories, or the things that make you happy.

10/10. Put all of these into one physically printed anthology collection already.
"I Found Horror: An Exploration Anthology"

Pretty good Christmas cosmic horror story

I found this story very enjoyable. I loved that it started a little sad with the tragedy that happened the year before and how you get to see how the family is struggling. Then while trying to show how much he loves Christmas he discovers an otherworldly danger to his family and friends. While trying to save everyone Douglas realizes hes not empty inside. Great little cosmic horror story with a holiday twist

Good times

This is the 3rd book I've read from this author. I love how he is able to make mundane things into monstrous entities. This is a good read. The story works and the narrator does a wonderful job.

This book series leaves you scared but in the good way if your reading this then you have the same feeling about this book series

So fun!

This is the third book of Ben Farthing’s I have read. I loved them all! Twisted but fun and nice, quick reads. Five stars!!

The main character was engaging and made you want him to bring joy back to his life with his family.
