ASL & paranormal romance
I had to remind myself this is a book my 13 yr old self would appreciate very much. As a 30ish yr old, I had trouble falling in love w/ the main characters. My favorite is Tessa & Colton. Maybe if it wasn’t insta-love / felt like a love at first sight trope for me, I would’ve given it a 4 star. Maybe if Thomas doesn’t have the white knight complex & have been wiser when figuring out what Vivi was hiding; Maybe if Vivi used her “monstrous power” against abusers & cult leaders I would’ve have given this book 5 stars. Some dialogues made me cringe but my 13 yr old past self would’ve ate it up giggling. It’s not something I’ll re-read, but will use to fall asleep to because plot is dragging & all over the place in middle & last parts. What was the point of going to Hudson’s house & hiding at Thomas’ house afterwards only to get taken to THE HOUSE? the only memorable thing for me is the ASL, I felt the frustrations of FL not being able to communicate normally, not being able to express her true thoughts & feelings like nobody really gets her.
