About this listen

Her only option is death.

Sue Quentin has reached the end of her rope - she's desperate, and there's only one way out. Her plan doesn't include falling for Tony, the mysterious hit man she hires. He listens when she speaks and somehow convinces her that maybe her problems aren't entirely insurmountable. He even thinks her little potbelly is sexy. So he's a werewolf - everyone has flaws! Sue enjoys being coddled by Tony, and, for his part, Tony likes the way Sue moans when he touches her. She begins to think she and Tony might have a shot at a future together, despite his unorthodox profession...and even though she doesn't know his real name. But when Tony's enemies - not all of whom are fully human - decide Sue makes a perfect target, will Tony risk letting his darker side out during the day to save her?

Editorial reviews

Hunter's Moon is the first installment of the Tales of the Sazi. Sue Quentin wants desperately to kill herself…except now she's falling for the hunky hit man she's hired to do the deed. Also, he's a werewolf. Adam Epstein's performance hits the mark. He captures Tony's voice: cool, sexy, and a little dark. He handles the odd mix of worlds in this supernatural mafia romance. This is not your mother's audiobook; still, you won't be pressing pause anytime soon.

AN ENJOYABLE 3.5 STARS SOPRANOS & WERE-SHIFTERS

I must admit this isn't my usual type of listen as I like Historical, Contemporary, Paranormal basically Romances pretty much in any form however, I downloaded this unaware it was under the SciFi/Fantasy heading rather than the Romance heading..... but I wasn't disappointed.

It's told from Tony's point of view - he's a hardened, flawed, no nonsense, cold-hearted assassin who usually works for the Mob and every full moon he changes. He meets his next Client Sue ready to take on the next Contract but, as he starts to hear her story, he's slowly drawn to her smell then, as they touch, addictive 'sizzles' are felt by them and so their romance story begins.

As I started listening to this I really didn't think I was going to like it - both characters were dislikable - Sue was a weak and downtrodden Lottery winner and Tony seemed emotionless and cold. However, as the adventure progressed there were many good things - mystery, suspense, danger, murder, sex, magic, kidnapping, twists and turns, intrigue, Tony's dark dry humor, passion and lots of interesting secondary characters all of which slowly softened Tony.

Then, as their romance bloomed, their bonds and trust grew and the supernatural story unfolded I found myself caring about the characters and the turmoil their lives were in and, as I pondered what's coming next and just how they were ever going to get a HEA ending, finally the last few chapters were compelling and set the scene, not only for the Sazi were-community, but also the next book in the series.

Worth a credit? It's not going to be for every romance lover as it is quite dark, gritty and moody and Tony's constant references to smells and what they meant got irritating.....but overall, it was a change from my usual listen but I found it action-packed, entertaining and yes enjoyable and I will be downloading book 2.

listened again for the 4th time!

I love this series! I've listened too and read all the books in the series multiple times! They are an example of great story telling with a vivid imagination far better than most!

A different kind of shifter series

Well, this was definitely different than the type of shifter series that I usually listen to. I like Susanne Wright’s Phoenix Pack, for example. This comes across as more of a mafia drama. It’s not as sensual as most shifter novels.☹️However, so far it has been an entertaining listen. At the end of book one, the H/h move to become members of a Wolf pack , in Colorado. Only time will tell if the series becomes more pack centered. So far, it is a mafia series and one of the wise guys happens to be a ware wolf.
Is it worth a credit? Yeah,it would be. However, I’ve listened to it as part of the Romance package. So far, I’m intrigued by its uniqueness. Only time will tell if it’s uniqueness is enough to keep me entertained.

Good 1st half / second half fell very flat

Any additional comments?

The first part of this book was quite entertaining but the second half was so boring that i didn't finish the book. Totally lost interest after the first chapter in the second half.....

Tony Giodone is a hit man, raised by a mobster after his mother died. He is also a werewolf, ‘changed’ accidentally a year ago by a woman he was hired to kill. She meant to kill him, but Tony didn't die and when he recovered, he found that he changed into a wolf during the three nights around the full moon. He agrees to meet a new client, Sue Quentin. Tony’s a little bemused when he discovers that Sue wants him to kill…her. She can certainly afford his fee; she recently won a 268 million dollar lottery jackpot.

yawn

90% bedroom. A pickle is more engaging.
Poor little wimp of a rich girl
boringly predictable
monotone delivery
This author has amazing series , maybe this was written by a ghost writer. Can't explain how this was so mind numbingly awful.
