About this listen

Some heroes aren't born... they're built.

Westley Worthington has it all. Piles of money, good looks, a head for business, and a seemingly limitless supply of women who want to please him. And that's just the way he likes it. Until a brush with death causes him to rethink his priorities, and consider someone besides himself for the first time in his privileged life.

Cordelia Cross has never had it easy. Her duty to her family has her working as an assistant to a man she hates just to pay her sister's medical bills. When her arrogant boss alienates his last true friend, she finds herself promoted from schedule-managing coffee grabber to the newest member of West's inner circle.

Tempers and passions ignite as the two start spending time together, until a shocking accident puts their newfound attraction on ice. When West is faced with the toughest trial of his life, Cordelia helps him realize that he has all the tools he needs to be a force for justice.

Together they must turn West into the hero no one ever thought he could be.

Enjoyable

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would certainly recommend this book, it is well written and in my opinion very well read by Mason Lloyd.

Any additional comments?

This is a story about Westley Worthington, he is good looking, sexy and rich beyond most people's dreams. He is also selfish, hurtful and not a nice person. Cordelia Cross is his long suffering P.A.

I don't like spoilers so I won't say too much about the twists and turns within the storyline, of which there are many, except that Westley is almost killed and this action changes his perspective and gives his life a new meaning. Cordelia and her sister are there to give West the support and help he needs.

By the end of this book I had gone from disliking Westley to being a fan which just goes to show how well Tasha's writing wove a story where a selfish person became someone prepared to sacrifice himself for someone else. I actually cried at one point. I can't wait to hear more.

Reconstructed: Building a Hero

Following the prologue, I wasn't sure if interested in continuing with the book due to confusion arising with its connection with next chapter. However, the suspense built and I couldn't it put down. Looking forward to the remaining two books of trilogy and discovering if this has any historical basis or tie in to the "Curse of the Alpha"trilogy

The New and Improved Bionic Man

Reconstructed starts with Westley "West" Worthington as being a rich spoiled jerk. West has good looks, money, business savy, and women who are more interested in his social status. He has placed arm lengths with everyone he socialized with. He even treated his assistant, Cordelia Cross with indifferent at his pleasure.

Cordelia would rather worked anywhere than for West. But in order to pay for her sister's medical bill, Cordelia has putted up with West's callous behavior.

The attraction between West and Cordelia is there but their attraction doesn't seemed to go anywhere. West is callous and Cordelia hates him for it. When West discovered that Cordelia knew more about his biomedical company, Medical Prosthetics, he has a new found respects for her and decided to act upon their attraction to each other.

His courting of Cordelia is put on hold when West is injured during a break-in at his company. West is seriously injured and has to be reconstructed to be fully physically functional before the accident. Would the new improved West be worthy in Cordelia's eyes?

The narrator, Mason Lloyd does a wonderful job in narrating Reconstructed. I had to pause at very distraction because I didn't want to miss anything from the story.

Tasha Black has always out did herself when she writes a story. I can't wait to follow what will happen to West and Cordelia and the secondary character Edward Dalton, who is the head of security for West. Her characters, plots, and conflicts are very well developed within the story. She will leave her audience wanting more.

I was given this audiobook by the author/narrator/publisher via Audiobook Blast for an honest review. I was not compensated or influence in any way for writing this review.

Awesome Read (or is it listen?)

If you could sum up Reconstructed: Building a Hero in three words, what would they be?

I couldn't ever just use 3 words because there is way too much to say about this story. The awesomeness alone is just too much to ever be satisfied by 3 words.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the Character development the best.

What about Mason Lloyd’s performance did you like?

He did great and brought so much more feeling to the story than just reading it would have brought.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

If I were to say the moment that moved me the most then I'd be giving away a part of the book and I refuse to spoil it for someone else so you will just have to read it and pay attention to what West says after his big meeting.

Any additional comments?

I loved this story an the character development. From beginning to end you get to see them grow and change. The plot and just the entire story line is different to me and I like it. Such greatness and an awesome way to show what most of the world considers the disabled. I love how this shows that just because they don't have all the same parts as us and their bodies are different doesn't mean they cant do truly wonderful things.

When West gets thrown out the window, I was like...Oh No, What about your date with Cordelia?

Which character – as performed by Mason Lloyd – was your favorite?

Cordelia!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Any additional comments?

** I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review **

I totally loved this book, so much I immediately bought #2! This is a great little listen, well narrated and never a dull moment...West is a rich jerk, and Cordelia is his assistant...he throws parties with lots of girls around...always gets his way...Well he has his eye on Cordelia, and she has hers on him...they have a chemistry that they are both ignoring...he finds out that she is more than just a pretty face and has a mind for business..they have a moment, and kiss..he asks her on a date...But...he never shows at the fancy restaurant..Cordelia is super disappointed...West misses there date because he is almost murdered...Why? Because he is kind of a jerk, as I mentioned earlier....his company manufactures very advanced prosthetics and a disgruntled employee is trying to steal the technology...West catches him...and after almost dying he becomes..RECONSTRUCTED!!! LOL This really is a good story..and I am moving on to book 2 now!
