About this listen

Have you ever read a book that had an ending you hated? Have you ever watched a movie that jumped too soon from situation A to B without showing what happened along the way? Have you ever thought two characters who never met should have had a scene together? Then the newest how-to manual in the HowExpert catalog is exactly what you need!

In this book, you'll learn:

  • What is fan fiction, and why do people write it?
  • How to brainstorm ideas
  • How to cater to your audience, even though you're writing your story for yourself
  • How to make your story the best that it can be
  • Where to post your finished story

Whether you want to write that one story that fixes the ending you hated or you want to play in your fandom's virtual sandbox for months or years to come, this is the book for you.

About the Expert

Karen Burkey is a personnel and human resources professional for a government agency of the state of Ohio. She lives with her husband and their two dogs and four cats, whom they call their furry children. Her favorite things to do are reading, writing, and watching television and movies, although hiking in the woods is pretty high up on her list, too. Though her writing isn't perfect, Kari is a perfectionist when it comes to telling a story. Whether it's fan fiction or an original novel, she finds the most challenging part of writing to be getting that first draft down on paper.
