About this listen
There are many books available at your favorite bookstore and on websites like Amazon on how to learn a foreign language. They typically provide practical advice including lots of useful tips that will definitely help the language learner. When I decided to write this audiobook, How to Learn Spanish, French, English, German, Japanese, Portuguese - Any Language In 30 Days, I didn't want to add another book rehashing the same information that was already available.
This book takes a different approach to learning. It deals with human motivation and creating the right mind-set that will drive you rapidly to your language learning goal. It is presented in simple language that most anyone can easily understand and apply. It was written for the first-time foreign language learner looking forward to a fulfilling experience and for those who have already engaged in learning but have lost their motivation and are ready to give up.
In addition, you will be presented with a practical, easy-to-follow process on creating a personal action plan that will have you speaking and interacting in your target language in a short time. So don't start your new journey without the right preparation, which is being presented to you here. And if you have already taken the plunge but have lost your motivation and direction, know now you can get it back.
Don't be among the high percentage of people who attempt to learn a foreign language but end up quitting early in their journey. The information contained in this book will make sure that does not happen. It is a fast and easy listen, uncomplicated, with all the fluff left out. Put learning a foreign language on your "to-do" list, and let's get started.

S.U.M.O. stands for Shut Up, Move On. It's a phrase to say to ourselves (and sometimes others) when we are acting or thinking in a way that is hindering our ability to succeed. It doesn't necessarily mean "get over it" or "pull yourself together" (although there may be occasions when both responses are necessary): "Shut Up" means stop what you're doing, take time out to reflect, let go of baggage and beliefs that hinder your potential; "Move On" means tomorrow can be different from today, look for new possibilities, don't just think about it, take action.

Story
Education can be enriching and transformative. It can also be downright excruciating—even demoralizing. When it comes to learning, why are some of us lovers and some of us haters? Welcome to the world of educational psychology, which uses science to explore what causes people to engage and learn, and what we can do to make learning opportunities more enjoyable and impactful. Spoiler alert: Teachers can only do so much. Students, too, must take control of their learning. Unfortunately, many of us never, ahem, learned the skills to do just that.

Good for basic help for beginning to learn any new language
This book is about setting up the habit of learning a new language as well as what and how to practice. I found the suggestions to be very helpful. It’s a good start and a positive vibe to encourage you to begin. Definitely worth the price.
Is it weird that I liked the Narrator’s accent?! No, it’s not!

THIS A KEEPER!!!
What did you love best about How to Learn Spanish, French, English, German, Japanese, Portuguese - Any Language in 30 Days?
I usually do not review what I purchase, but I read a negative review about this book and I thought it wasn’t fair, since the audio sample is very clear of what you are buying. This book was exactly what I needed to get the enthusiasm and motivation to keep learning anything! My wife also listened to it and she got motivated to do things other than learning languages. I listen to the part of creating good habits often to keep myself motivated!
What other book might you compare How to Learn Spanish, French, English, German, Japanese, Portuguese - Any Language in 30 Days to and why?
Don't know
What does Claudia R. Barrett bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I think it was great to use someone with a foreign accent to narrate it, since it proves the point, if others can I can do it too! I enjoy listening to others speak English with an accent. The narrator's voice was very clear, pleasant, and enthusiastic.
What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?
No matter what age you are you CAN learn something new if you really want to.
Any additional comments?
This should be taught in schools. Keep up the good work!

This guy is onto something
Over the years, I've had varying levels of success with learning other languages. As I listened to this book, I reflected on the process of learning in general not just foreign languages. I think Mr. Pluma understands the value of the "inner game" of learning, the mindset that makes learning possible in the first place. The value of habit in personal growth is hard to overestimate. This was 47 minutes well spent
As to the narration, while I often find it confusing to select a narrator of the opposite gender of the writer, I thought Ms. Barrett was an excellent choice as narrator, despite her accent. She's obviously somebody who had to acquire English as a second language, and her evident comfort and ease in using it speaks to the value of just jumping in and starting to talk

Simple and effective
What made the experience of listening to How to Learn Spanish, French, English, German, Japanese, Portuguese - Any Language in 30 Days the most enjoyable?
There is a lot of books on the Net that are suppose to help anyone to learn a foreign language, even those of us who spent years in high school and came out barely knowing how to say "Hello". This book is different because it is a MOTIVATIONAL book. It will give you a proper strategy how to start learning a foreign language and don't give up easily. Message of the author is delivered through narration very passionately and thx to this audiobook I started learning Japanese. So far everything goes smooth and I am keeping up with my schedule!

Great tips for immersing yourself in any language
If you could sum up How to Learn Spanish, French, English, German, Japanese, Portuguese - Any Language in 30 Days in three words, what would they be?
learn any language
Which scene was your favorite?
I liked the tips on how to learn any language. It is important to stay motivated with your goal. You need to remember your goal every day so you stay focused on learning daily. If you learn a little bit every day it will be easy to learn so much in a single year.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes it was, it was nice and short and you could listen to it while doing a single workout at the gym.
Any additional comments?
I really enjoyed the tips in this book as well as the narrator who brought incite and understanding to how to really pick up a language fast. I found it easy to listen to and while I was working out at the gym learned how to soak up any language. (I'm probably going to stick with Spanish and German.
