About this listen

AN INSTANT #1 NEW YORK TIMES AND #1 USA TODAY BESTSELLER

In the follow-up to It Happened One Summer, Tessa Bailey delivers another deliciously fun rom-com about a former player who accidentally falls for his best friend while trying to help her land a different man…

King crab fisherman Fox Thornton has a reputation as a sexy, carefree flirt. Everyone knows he’s a guaranteed good time—in bed and out—and that’s exactly how he prefers it. Until he meets Hannah Bellinger. She’s immune to his charm and looks, but she seems to enjoy his… personality? And wants to be friends? Bizarre. But he likes her too much to risk a fling, so platonic pals it is.

Now, Hannah's in town for work, crashing in Fox’s spare bedroom. She knows he’s a notorious ladies’ man, but they’re definitely just friends. In fact, she's nursing a hopeless crush on a colleague and Fox is just the person to help with her lackluster love life. Armed with a few tips from Westport’s resident Casanova, Hannah sets out to catch her coworker’s eye… yet the more time she spends with Fox, the more she wants him instead. As the line between friendship and flirtation begins to blur, Hannah can't deny she loves everything about Fox, but she refuses to be another notch on his bedpost.

Living with his best friend should have been easy. Except now she’s walking around in a towel, sleeping right across the hall, and Fox is fantasizing about waking up next to her for the rest of his life and… and… man overboard! He’s fallen for her, hook, line, and sinker. Helping her flirt with another guy is pure torture, but maybe if Fox can tackle his inner demons and show Hannah he’s all in, she'll choose him instead?

Just good

The readers voice was just bad and really took away from the story itself. The story was fine but not half as good as it happened one summer.

Hook, Line & Sinker Review

This story was entertaining as it brought back familiar characters from Tessa Bailey’s - It Happened One Summer. This story followed the relationship between Hannah & Fox. It was a sweet story, but it was very slow paced and full of angst. Fox’s self-esteem issues were overwhelming and dimmed my enjoyment of the story. Overall, it was a nice story and I loved the ending.

Loved it

Fun sequel to the first one. Cute story. Caution for young readers, it’s for mature audiences, it can get very sexy at places!

Better than the first in the series

I really enjoyed the characters journey in this story. The MC in the first books was super generic. Hannah felt more real.

A fun read.

Oh my goodness, I loved this book! I love the first book in the series however, this one was even better. All I can say is that everyone should read both of these books! Fox and Hannah! ❤️

Great book

Very great book, ups downs and heartbreak make you believe that love can happen. Never stop believing.

Great sequel!

I was so excited for this one and it didn’t disappoint at all! Love fox and Hannah’s story and so happy there wasn’t really the 3rd act breakup.

so much better than book one.

I liked It Happened One Summer well enough to pick the second book up, but thos one was so much better. the first had some cringe lines ("recharging station") but thos one was sweet and the characters chemistry was way better.

It’s so different hearing the story versus reading it! I love that I can hear it come alive.
