About this listen

In this fast-paced thriller, special operative Nathan McBride battles the most treacherous enemy he's ever faced - and the one hitting closest to home.

After simultaneous deadly terror attacks on San Diego and Washington, DC, hammer the nation, Nathan learns that the mass murders weren't random events - they targeted his family.

And the threat is far from over. Part of a larger plot involving a sabotaged North Korean bioweapons facility and an ISIS training camp in northern Mexico, a third attack - bigger than 9/11 - is being hatched by cold-blooded killers.

With the US Border Patrol and the CIA supporting the mission, Nathan teams up with longtime faily friend Vincent Beaumont, the CEO of America's largest private military contractor.

In a harrowing firefight, Nathan's assault team will have to neutralize the terrorist cell, recover the weapons of mass destruction, and get them safely across the international border. The lives of thousands are at risk as Nathan weighs his lust for revenge against the most crucial part of the mission - taking the ringleaders alive - which might just cost him his life.

Good but....

This one has a political undertone. Though I liked it, and own all in this series, his obvious political affiliation is not the same as mine and made it hard to tolerate. I struggled with this story, albeit fiction, trying to make a point. Using real names and a platform, that is controversial at best, took the mystic of fiction away from me. And while I am a Nathan admirer, I am unsure if I will purchase another one because of this. I did not appreciate this in his other books. And as history is written in the next few months I wonder how this book’s blatant references will survive.

Reference to "45" Was Unnecessary

I have always enjoyed the Nathan McBride series. It's fiction, so the reference to political figures being real is irrelevant to me in this type of novel. I think just using "president" over using 45's name would have helped me here. I also found this book wasn't as good as the previous. Not sure if I'll stick with this series.

Based on Reviews

I haven't listened to this book yet, however, since all of the negative reviews have to do with the positive attributes to President Trump, I know I will love it.

Great Book

I agree with some of the other reviews. If you are a Trump hating, snow flake, soy-boy, woke weenie this book is not for you.

Loved all eight books became addicted to Dick Hills Narration of the series.

I hate the fact this is the last book in the series. I finished this one wanting more. The friendship between Harvey and Nathan is a incredible one and one most of us guys wish we had. These two have seen and done it all and still managed to remain friends. I love this whole series.

good story but way too much fluff

this seems to be a recurring theme with writers they start of really good then start adding way too much character fluff and making all their tough guys talk about their feelings and fight alcohol demons. if I wanted to read this crap I would have bought a book about it, not a spec ops action novel. very disappointed! it's like these authors are writing their novels for women! I dont care for women authors for this very reason. now my tough guy writers are pussies too. ugh.
same crap to the "John Milton" character by Mark Dawson
My God do all these writers go to the same writers workshops all taught by chicks who writ romance novels?
thank God I still have Mark Greaney. I miss Vince Flynn no pussies for these guys.

Action and Thrills Galore!!!!

I just love it when a book starts out with action and testosterone in the first few minutes. It's indicative of what's to come and Andrew Peterson does not disappoint.
This book begins easily enough. Nathan's at the grocery store. First he's thinking about all the wasted food here in the US. On his way down an isle he sees a mixed couple (Caucasian man and Mexican woman), then he hears the woman being struck in the face. He stops and quickly puts the man and his two brothers who joined him down. Then he tries to help the woman and the child with her.
Vince Beaumont's assistant is attacked in her home and tortured until she gives info about his wife's schedule. Two armed men shoot at his wife and children in a mall, hitting the wife and killing one of his sons.
Meanwhile on the other side of the country Nathan's father, sister and niece come under attack in Washington DC. Nathan's sister makes sure her daughter is ok then goes after the gunmen herself.
There is plenty more but I don't think you want to hear the whole story from me! The action is nonstop!! This book is super fast paced. The story is great but there are unexpected tragedies.
This book has my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATIONS.

This series was tolerably corny until this one.

I’ve enjoyed this series but this will be my last one. Over the top corny. I always liked Nathan and Harv. I’ll give the series a solid thumbs up and pretend I never did this one. Ruined it for me.
