About this listen

Duncan MacTavish might secretly be amused by his reputation as a highwayman and a rogue, despite being nothing of the sort. His preference for solitude has unintentionally sparked these rumors, and he makes no effort to refute them, finding it advantageous that they keep people at a distance, aligning with his antisocial yet not unfriendly disposition. Residing in a remote part of the moors, Duncan deals with any disturbances using either his guns or his swords, leading a life of quietude.

Kenina Ross, meanwhile, is fleeing from a secret of her own. Her unexpected encounter with Duncan MacTavish, and notably, a musket in his possession, leaves her injured and reliant on his mercy.

But Duncan harbors his own set of deep and potentially lethal secrets. The situation becomes more complex as Kenina, an Englishwoman on the run, finds herself at the dangerous end of Duncan's weapon, raising the question: who is truly in need of protection?

Clean and wholesome

The virtual voice. It was very flat. There was no inflection in the voice. The story was okay

It was a good story line

This would have been an excellent book with the exception of the virtual voice. I dislike the virtual voice it has no feeling and I pray audible do not continue with this.
