Maybe it’s my determination to have an adventure, or maybe it’s the magic, but every time tall, dark, and grumpy enters my bookshop, I find myself wanting to read up on birds just to catch his attention.

As my newfound magic falters, and the town enters my shop into a cutthroat Christmas window decorating competition, I find myself working side-by-side with Alexander, who seems just as determined to avoid love as I am.

With Christmas fast approaching, I must figure out if I can suspend my disbelief and make the match of a lifetime—my own.

Such fun

A Charming Christmas story set in a small Scottish town. Fun quirks and interesting characters!

magickal, romantic, whimisical

i absolutely loved this book. it’s a romance, for many! my review would simply be this, love is the best magick of all! this read was funny, whimsical, and had a great premise to the plot of couple meeting in a bookstore over books that may or may not have commonality! Tricia O’Malley has a way of writing love, desire, and the longing of both in. a way that just makes you enjoy whatever she writes! this is set in modern times, and not as much fantasy as i normally dive into, but it left me feeling happy, and fulfilled by the story crafted within! Both narrators were fabulous, and added to the story, makes me want to go to Scotland even more than i did! my opinions & thoughts are my own. May you enjoy this story as much as i did!

Once again, Tricia has written a book I desperately want to live inside. Rosie and Alexander were both so INCREDIBLY relatable. I adore them. Rosie has decided to make some big changes in her life just as she discovers a relative has left her a bookstore in Scotland. DREAMS, am I right?

Alexander is a healing from a divorce and loving his space, but when they meet… 😮‍💨 The banter, the common nerdiness, the CHEMISTRY. I’m just a little obsessed. The way they care about each other’s comforts and interests… I would die.

The puffin storyline with Tattie and Neeps 🐧 was so precious. The care and thoughtfulness Alexander put into their enclosure would’ve made me fall in love, too. Also, Esther 🥹

This book made me feel like maybe someday I’ll leave the comfort and safety of my books and give love a try again… just maybe.

This book had me out loud laughing. The characters are quirky and fun. The snarky remarks made me laugh so hard. I wish there were more stories set in that village, it was hard ending the book once you just got to know the characters. I can't wait to add more titles to my library.

Puffin but fun in this Scottish Xmas Romance

I am a huge fan of Tricia O'Malley and this book was the perfect read for me. Just puffin incredible with loveable characters and puffin but the best in small town living. Add the book b*tches who only want to lend a hand and beat the puffin out of the competition for best Xmas window at a bookshop, and you can't help butt laugh at all the antics.
O'Malley gives us a cherry on top with stud puffin Alexander MacTavish. The swoonworthy Scotsman rescues the cutest little Puffin that becomes his companion. Rosie stands no chance against his boyish charms and melts into a marshmallow puff every time he does something adorable or helpful. But that's nothing compared to the sparks puffin between them when they share their first kiss.
This book is pleasurable reading at its best, wrapped up in a big puffin sparkly bow.
