About this listen
Inherited...One haunted house; One witch’s manual; One mandatory ‘to do’ list.
Not Inherited...One hunky neighbor; One memory-challenged ghost; One set of town gossips."Smart, sexy, and deliciously fun, this book is everything I love about the written word! It's a masterful balance of humor and heart with a touch of mystery thrown in for good measure." - NY Times Bestselling Author - Darynda JonesWhen down-on-her-luck costume designer Remington Smith receives a surprise inheritance, she must return to the town she swore to forget. And complete a list of mandatory projects. And learn to cast magic spells. Magic spells? Too bad the hunky guy next door keeps getting in the way. After a tornado ravages a small town, Jason Hart purchases ninety percent of the property to develop as a corporate training ground for Think Tank Innovations. But his first renovation crew quits. Then another. And another. They all say ghosts are running amok—and the whole town is hexed with an anti-love spell.
Except Jason doesn’t believe in ghosts or (anti) love spells. And given how drawn he is to his spunky new neighbor, that doesn’t seem likely to change anytime soon.
While Remington works to complete her inherited to-do-list, avoid falling for her playboy neighbor, and learn how to cast spells that don’t backfire, she discovers a menacing mystery involving the orphanage where she grew up.
A mystery so unsettling Jason goes all boring-protector-dude and starts trying to shove her out of town and out of his life.
But Remington has never been good at taking orders.

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Story
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Story
In the not-too-distant future, a 21-member crew launches from Earth. Their mission: to establish a temporary colony on Mars. Little do they know that colony will become permanent–and the last stand of the human race. Because, without warning, every single person left on Earth simply...vanishes. Now, a thousand years later, the resources needed to sustain life are running out, and the very existence of the Mars colony is threatened. Humankind has only one option–to return to its home planet.

Bad narration
The narration was bad. Story was ok, a little too obvious in some spots for my taste and it felt juvenile in a way. Not really my cup of tea. But the narration was what made it hard to get through.

It was unique
I dont like sex scenes in my books and this had alot not to mention they talked alot during sex so when i fast forwarded i missed things im sure. It did not have a resolution. Did they end up together ? Who was her parents? Who was after the orphans? Did her friend’s fiancae ever hear the truth about her deception? It ended halfway through the story.

AI narration is aweful
The story had potential unfortunately the AI voice narration ruins it. The pronunciation, cadence and lack of difference from character to character makes the narration annoying at best. It was so distracting I did not finish the book. Maybe I'll buy the ebook version.
Audible please stop this AI trend. I'd rather pay more for a real human narrator who understands inflection & emotion.

Virtual Audio
This was my 1st experience with virtual audio and I did not like it. It lacked the emotional tone which professional audio performers bring to the book, The story itself was good. I think it would have been great with the “right” narrator.

I liked the players and the story line.
End too many unanswered Who wants to kill her and why. Did the boy get adopted. Is there a book two.

Interesting plot; virtual voice leaves something to be desired.
I liked the story, but there seemed to be some glitchy scene transitions. Also, virtual voice has a ways to go before it delivers a story with the nuances of human dialogue.

Virtual voice
Virtual voice is absolutely horrible. I can’t even finish the book. I feel the book would have been great. But I just can’t make it through. If I could do zero stars on the performance, I would.

Virtual voice narration ruined it
Although I felt the ending of this book was a bit disappointing. Overall, I felt like it was a cute story, but the virtual voice narration made it very hard to listen to. Many times throughout the story I thought about just giving up and not finishing it because I couldn’t take, the monotone boring virtual voice, but decided to stick it out, hoping that the book would be so good it would be worth it. Sadly, I feel like the whole story had potential, but fell flat in the end.

Weak character writing
Weak story and characters, storyline constantly repeats itself, could listen to the first 2 chapters and last 2 chapters and be good. Not recommended.
