I had so much fun listening to this one. I don't think I stopped smiling the whole time. Watching Klein & Paisley's relationship grow into what it did made me happy, and I loved watching her learn to stand up for herself with his support.

Paisley and Klein signed a contract that was mutually beneficial. Klein would be a fake date to Paisley’s little sister’s week long beach wedding to Paisley’s ex-boyfriend as Paisley is supposed to go as the maid of honor. Paisley would help Klein market himself and his book in order to get published for 6 months. They were going for the cake, but stayed for the longing, the spice, and sweet romantic moments between Paisley and Klein as they navigated dysfunctional family shenanigans. I did not know what to expect when I requested the ALC because I requested it for the cover, but it was the robust story that I listened to. The well developed characters, the feeling of being on the beach, the angsty messiness of the set up, or the sweet romance that developed between Paisley and Klein. Also, Aaron Donahue and Hannah Chiclana did such a great job narrating Here For The Cake. This book made me smile and I loved it!

Fun Rom Com

Here for the cake is such a fun, sweet Rom Com with a second chance at love for Paisley and Klein. I actually started this audiobook thinking “ohhh no, little sister marrying Paisley’s ex, ouch my heart”. but it was done so well and we got our beautiful HEA. Paisley and Klein shared a kiss back in college and unfortunately for them it wasn’t the best one, she gave him her number, he never called, now years later, they run into each other and in a flash, they are telling the people around them they are dating! Now the fake dating must continue on to her sister’s wedding and true feelings for each other start to come to surface. I absolutely adored Klein, he made Paisley feel beautiful and seen, he stood up for her and together they built a true friendship. Paisley is dealing with family issues that until Klein came into the picture she just swept under the rug and let everyone walk all over her, to see her navigate this part is empowering, she finally took her life, her wants and truths into her own hands. I really enjoyed this book and the audio. Both Hannah Chiclana and Aaron Donahue are new to me narrators and did an outstanding job as Paisley and Klein. THEIR voices were beautiful and portrayed each character so well, I can’t wait to hear more audiobooks they narrate. If you’re looking for a second chance, fake dating romance where the MMC will protect the FMC at all costs, funny banter with cute nicknames, spicy moments, a boss babe and no 3rd act break up, than enjoy this audiobook today!!!

This book was the perfect balance of character development and spice! I highly recommend getting this book.

An amazing listen - full of fun, laughter and love

This is my first read/listen by Jennifer Millikin and I absolutely loved this story. I could not stop listening!! It’s funny, sweet, spicy and full of amazing tension. Paisley has been given an impossible job thanks to her thoughtless sister and rude family members. But she’s determined to make the best of it while having a little fun along the way. She is kind, sweet, sassy and determined to make it through the wedding. Klein is a delight…he’s kind, caring and funny. Once he gets his mind set on something he goes for it…including Paisley. Love how their relationship blossoms and they bring out the best in one another. The banter, overall dialogue and the spice!! Hannah Chiclana and Aaron Donahue delivered an amazing performance. They gave the characters perfect personality, voice and emotion. They had me laughing out loud many times with their amazing delivery. I’m looking forward to reading/listening to more books from Jennifer.

When "the one that got away" meets fake dating and includes the one bed trope? I am immediately in! I marathon listened to this book because I just couldn't press pause!!

Paisley and Klein had a connection in college that ended with an awful kiss and some hurt feelings. Paisley quickly begins a with someone else and Klein ends up pining for her. Fast-forward to a chance reconnection during her sister's bachelorette party...oh and did I mention that Paisley's ex is the groom?...needless to say Paisley needs a date for the wedding festivities and she finds the perfect solution in Klein.

This gorgeous read is also hilarious! Like when her sister mistakes Klein for the *ahem* entertainment at her bachelorette party. I just LOVE when there is an angsty fake relationship, add in some quirky side characters and a one bed trope and it is a perfect recipe for me! I absolutely recommend this book!

It’s no secret that I love fake dating so naturally I loved this book. 😂

Klein is the best fake boyfriend(turned real)! He is going down as one of my top book boyfriends of all time. I seriously adore him! 😍

Sweet Paisley deserves the world and more. There were so many times in this book I wanted to reach in and give her a big hug.

About the narration:

This book is narrated by Aaron Donahue as Klein and Hannah Chiclana as Paisley. Aaron is a new to me narrator and I thought he was the perfect Klein “Paisley Baby.” SWOON! This is the second book I’ve read narrated by Hannah and just like the first she did such a good job! She brought Paisley to life🥹

Such a fun read

I loved how pure the characters were. There was drama but it was never between the two main characters. They were on each others side the whole time and nobody sabotaged them! Such a feel good story and very entertaining!

Klein is the epitome of if he wanted to he would.

I will be honest and say this book wasn't really on my radar at first. However, one of my friends said that this was a must read book and I couldn't really decide to what to listen to. I had an extra audible credit so said what the hell and just bought it. When I tell you that this book blew me away, that is not an understatement.

Klein and Paisley knew each other in college, but after an unfortunate incident they haven't seen or spoken to each other in years. On the night of her sister's bachelorette party she winds up in the bar that Klein is working on. Not wanting to go to the wedding by herself, she agrees to help Klein market his new book if he agrees to go to her sisters wedding with her. What's the worst that can happen.

This book sucked me in fro the get go. I was obsessed with Klein and Paisley! Though they have some struggles that they have to overcome in the past, it was extremely amazing to me the level of communication that these two had. Klein is the epitome of "If he wanted to, he would." The things he did in this book made me swoon SO HARD for him. I cannot even begin to express the love I have for these two and their relationship. Even though it was a short time on the island, their growth and relationship felt real and organic. Nothing felt forced and I loved it.

This book was so freaking good. I will recommend this to everyone I know. If you are in the mood for an honest to go just feel good book that makes you swoon but also sweat from some of those heat moments.. Yes, Yes,yes!

Speechless!! Best book I’ve ever read!!

I went into this one blind and omg I could not stop listening!! The narrators were perfection and the story incredible, don’t even think about it, just buy it, you’ll be glad you did!
