About this listen

Below the English town of Ipswich a tunnel boring team is digging through solid rock when unexpectedly, they break into an ancient cave system filled with animal bones. Strangely, there were also the remains of men, knights in armour, some crushed, and some seemed to have had their bones and flesh melted. And there was one more thing found – a huge egg-shaped ruby that glowed like a setting sun.

Just over 2000 miles away, still trapped on the lost island of Lemuria, Troy and Anne know that the time of monstrous beings long thought only existing in our legends or lurking in our nightmares, was returning.

But they now have a chance of escape – they have found the fabled submarine, the Nautilus. Together, Troy, Anne, the secretive Elle and the huge Viking woman, Yrsa, work together to break free so they can warn the world of the terror that is coming.

The ending?

Love this author, hated the ending. Makes me think he wanted to be done with the series. Boo.

What an ending

Not many endings leave me with my mouth open. This one certainly did . This is a fantastic trilogy and I can only hope further volumes are forthcoming . The level of world building in these volumes is just amazing.

Kinda done

I think I’m done with this series. Dragging on a little too long for me with a lot of filler and not enough substance.

Greig I will never forget this and I will never forgive you.

Jaw is on the floor. Had to get up and pace around the apartment for the last 30 mins of listening. I will never forgive you.

As in All Greig Beck Novels, People Get Eaten

I may be strange, but I always enjoy novels where humans are prey for resurrected prehistoric creatures. This book doesn’t disappoint. It was hard to put this book down…

Best in the Series!

The third book in the “Mysterious Island” series.

The danger is high.
The battles are exciting.
The tension is electric.
…and the monsters are horrifying!

This perfect mixture of action/adventure reminds me of my magical first reading of Edgar Rice Burroughs’ John Carter of MARS series.

Yes, yes, we all know Greig Beck is writing imaginative tales right out of the note books of Jules Verne, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, & Edgar Rice Burroughs.
We knows.
He knows ( constantly drops hints, he does. )
I love it.
I’ve read all of Verne, and Doyle and Burroughs, and I’m hungry for more. It’s wonderful to discover new adventures written intelligently in the same “action-adventure” theme with just the right amounts of 21century Sex & Horror to keep things relevant.

Sean Mangan has the perfect voice for these "great action yarns"!

Remember, brother & sister readers, this is a Greig Beck novel so people are… uh, sorry, I mean “characters” are going to DIE.
Please remember to brace your selves accordingly.
