Riveting!

Grieg Beck always comes through. Kept me riveted all the way through. Only criticism is there are a few lines of dialog that are a little lame for the characters and the narrator's pronunciation of some words is a little irritating but those are minutia.

Same Story, Different Names, Dates and Locales

If you've watched the Pat Boone movie, then this book is superfluous. It's basically the same story - just with different names, dates and locations. I kept waiting for there to be something new and exciting, but it never got there for me. On the technical side, the narration for the first 3/4's of the book was exceedingly irritating. The volume of the narrator's voice would inexplicably change from loud to soft, with no relation to the events of the story. I had to keep the volume up higher than I felt was healthy, in order to not miss halves of sentences that suddenly went to quiet. It's almost like the narrator was in a rocking chair, moving close to and away from the microphone over and over. I didn't realize there were 2 more books in this series, which at least have different plot lines. I'll wait, however, for them to be a Daily Deal before considering. The first book was just not compelling enough.

fantastic scary and enthralling

absolute masterpiece of horror. hope they write a sequel possibly two . the end is satisfying but leaves you wanting more at the same time love Greg Beck and the narrator did a fantastic job his voice is a bit slow I just sped it up by .1

Really wanted to listen to this

Narrator is monotone and makes me sleepy which is not good for someone on the road a lot. I wish Mr. Beck would try another narrator. I really wanted to listen to the Primordia series as well but same deal with the narration.

Very interesting reimagining

I've always loved the Verne story and this modern reimagining of it is definitely worth the listen.

Nice Modern Take on A Classic

I love that this book puts a modern and different spin on the classic. I was entertained and invested in the story and the characters. It had more of a horror and thriller feel to it and less scientific than a Verne novel. The pacing was great and the tension at times had me actually stressing for the fate of the characters. I also like that it leaves the possibility open for a sequel. Only know is what some others have stated, the narration can be pretty monotone. He does not show a ton of range between characters, fortunately the story does a great job of keeping you abreast of who is doing or saying what. Definitely was worth the listen.

Loved it going to get the rest of the series. The tale was so intense I had to keep taking breaks.

I struggled at first with the narrator's voice but soon became accustomed to it and enjoyed the rest of his performance. it is a very engaging story.

Best investment ever made driving from California to Tennessee!!!!! this book was filled with excitement, fear, joy, and horror. Wow what an incredible journey!
