About this listen

The USA Today best seller.

Rose Grahame had everything Alex D’Arcy dreams of. A handsome husband, a stunning home and a baby boy with twinkling blue eyes and a smile that would brighten the darkest of days. It’s a stark contrast to Alex’s life - her dead-end job, her borderline addiction to drink and pills, her failed engagement and her cluttered flat. But the women’s lives are about to collide - and nothing will ever be the same again.

Strangers in a lift in a shopping centre, Alex gestures to Rose to go ahead of her when they reach the bottom floor. But tragedy strikes when a car ploughs into the young mum - killing her instantly - before driving off at speed. But was this a tragic accident? Or was it more than that? And just how involved is Emily truly going to become?

With twists that will keep you guessing until the very end, Her Name Was Rose makes you question who you can really trust and if any of us are truly honest about ourselves in the social media obsessed world.

50/50

I’m 50/50 on this book, good narration and an easy listen, but the story itself was a bit strange lol I didn’t hate it but also didn’t love it

Brilliant story.

Emily steps off an elevator behind a young woman pushing a baby buggy. Then she watches in horror as the mother steps into a crosswalk and is struck by a speeding car. She is killed instantly but the baby was spared. Her name was Rose.
Emily is such a believable character, she could be a coworker or a friend of a friend. She is young. She is fragile. But she knows how to act like a normal person and she knows which of her impulses she shouldn’t share. One of those impulses is her obsession with Rose’s death and the perfect life she had lead, as documented on Facebook.
That author’s hallmark is writing a psychological thriller in which normal people do normal things yet the threads of their stories weave together in an ever-more intensely suspenseful story. I cannot say anything more without spoiling the story. Suffice it to say: the plot twists are organic. The characters are believable. The ending is satisfying.

Worth it to listen. Entertaining and unexpected. I thought I knew what was coming, and was happy it had some twists that made sense thrown in.

Tense Page-Turner

Her Name Was Rose is a great listen- I really enjoyed it. This is a tightly-woven and tense suspense tale that is told from two points of view: Rose, an adored wife and mother who was tragically killed in a hit-and-run, speaking in first-person from the past; and Emily, a witness to Rose's death, a lonely and struggling woman who gets tangled in the web of Rose's former life, little by little. Well-written, enjoyable, great narration and hard to put down, the plot was interesting and, in my opinion, stands apart from other suspense novels. This audiobook keeps itself moving through interesting characters and well-paced storytelling. This one is entertaining and will keep you up past your bedtime, and it's well-worth a credit. Recommended!
