About this listen

When Kate Watts opens a food pantry in Minneapolis, she never dreamed it would be this difficult. Facing the prospect of turning hungry people away, she is grateful for the anonymous donations that begin appearing. Determined to identify and thank her secret benefactor, she launches a plan and catches Ian in the act.

Ian intrigues Kate in a way no man ever has. Impressed with her tolerance and captivated by her spirit, he complies and begins to slowly charm his way past her defenses. But Ian has enemies and they're growing restless. When Kate learns exactly how much Ian has paid, she'll discover just how strong her love is for the man who has hacked his way into her heart.

Highly recommend it. Funny and heartwarming just like I like my romance. I love Kate and Ian's story.

Great love story

I enjoyed listening to this book, I would have gave it a better review if there were not so many audio splices and voice changes.

Good book, but distracting with the audio splices

The narration was uneven and distracted from the story. It wasn’t up to Audible’s usual standards.

Decent story but the audio could use some help

What did you like best about this story?

I adore Kate and Ian, especially when they are together and bantering back and forth about his lack of boundaries and her sweetness. I love books that make me "LOL" (yes, Ian, I wrote that), but I was surprised that this book also made me cry. Strong writing that will definitely evoke your emotions.

Any additional comments?

I'm not sure if I got a bad audio copy, but there were certain lines that when read by the narrator sounded as if they had been recorded through a cell phone. It was kind of distracting, and I'm going to try re-downloading the book.

Ridiculously cute banter

I really enjoyed this read. The narration was the only thing I would improve on. I loved Katie and Ian.

Refreshing

The story was ok, but the narration prevented me from getting even halfway through. After "anonymity" was grossly mispronounced for the second time, I was out.

Horrible narrator😞

The performance could have been better in differentiating the voices of the characters since it was done mostly but not always.

The story follows the life of two people thrown together by chance. Then they take this opportunity and, although not completely convinced, give it a go knowing that the odds may be against them at some time.

A story that reels you in

Meet Ian: a good bad-boy who will worm his way into the heart of the woman who has caught his eye.

Meet Kate: the woman who falls for a white-hat hacker.

Ian definitely seemed too good to be true. I held my breath most of the novel, waiting for the show to drop. And at times the story dragged on a bit, but I was sucked in so much, it didn’t matter.

This story at times made me laugh, swoon, and even cry (the last not being ideal when driving into work). Now to check out book two...

Witty and heart-warming

Yes, a chick story but, An interesting new subplot.., looking into world of hacking that we rarely see in story lines.

Schmultzy but, fun

I LOVED On The Island series and have always wondered about the author humorous side with this series. So when I got my Audible account, I figured I would take a listen.

It was cute. I think listening kept my attention more than if I were just reading it.

I'm still deciding if I want to read/listen to the send book.
