About this listen

Amy and Luke have survived four months in a savage land completely disrupted by the massive power outage, but this last leg of their journey will demand all of their courage as the pair navigate a desperate landscape. Now, new factions begin to take action, and sudden violence signals a change in someone's policies. As they begin this last sprint across a war-torn countryside, Luke will need to reach deep for his last ounce of determination if he intends to ever make it home alive.

Learn more about Luke's past and find out some stunning truths about the government's plans for a future America. What is the endgame, and who will live to see it unfold? And finally, will Luke and Amy's love endure, or will their travels together end with a bullet? Disclaimer: Despite the relative youth of the two main characters, this is not a series aimed at the young adult crowd. This story, like the others in the series, address mature themes. This is the third book in a series that contains examples of gun violence, casual profanity, some mature sexual content, and references to drug use and underage drinking.

Best series ever!!!

I've read dozens of PAW books over the past few years and keep coming back to this one. William Allen writes with such passion about people's lives that you are on the edge of your seat during the book.
So much action put out by one 16 year old kid. He has a beserker mentality and uses it to protect his loved ones. Literally the best I've read.

Grateful this is the last.

This book brings closure for me to rhis series. I listened to the first two, and in the spirit of finishing a series I begin, glad this one is over.
As I said in my reviews of the first two books, the main characters prowess in everything killing is so unbelievable that this third book is nothing but a copy of conceit. The National Guard officers and soldiers idolizing Luke like he's John Friggin Rambo, REALLY? Asking a 16 year old about his ideas on assault plans? This author is lost in fantasy not fiction.

Suspenseful, action-oriented, well written

Luke and Amy are on the last leg of their long journey to his house. They try to help the national guard however they can as they travel, and they help uncover some truths about the government. Two different factions have formed, and at times, it is hard to determine what side certain people or groups fall into. This series continues to be a suspenseful page turner that you will want to finish in one sitting. I love the characters, who are so well presented, and the plot that has so many twists and turns, you can’t wait to see where it goes. Pat Young does a fantastic job with narration that it feels like you’re listening to real people in real situations.

A long read

The story goes into grave details of military equipment, etc that detracts from the plot. Often these detours drone on and on before moving the story forward. This book is not as good as the other two.
In addition, the author has gone way overboard on Luke's skills. He is a 16 year old kid but knows more about weapons and doctrine than a Navy Seal Officer. It has gotten ridiculous.

Couldn't finish this book...

The first book was okay and the second book had a decent rating so I thought I would give it a chance. It was horrible. The grammar was bad and I don't mean the character's grammar but the writer's Grammer. The narrator used northern, NY accents for characters from Oklahoma and pronounced the towns incorrectly. The storyline was boring and juvenile. My 17 year old son writes better than this. I do not recommend this series at all.
