female voicing is a tad confusing

female voice overs are a tad hit and miss, I often thought it was another character talking.

Pretty good book

as a lore fan, I was happy to get another book. but this one isn't exactly must read. it had a good story and is worth reading for the hardcore fan. but has no bearing on the halo games. or in game universe.

Simply amazing

I loved how this book takes place before everything begins. Shows the rationale in thoughts of the covenant just as it is for me, almost gives you perspective in the covenant.

Loved to different aspect this story had; understanding the Covenant and their intentions. Great book.

too many characters

there's a ton of characters which makes it difficult to follow by ear. but still good story.

fan fucking tastic

it's a great one off story that doesn't require you to be knowledgeable about what's happened in other Halo novels

Great Story! Great performance!

I really enjoyed this book. I didn't want to stop listening and even though im not usually a fan of the covenant story line it was actually very good. Would recommend to any Halo fan!

loved it

The deep dive into the Covenants rise and fall was outstanding, even more so the story of the shield world made me feel much more empathetic for the elites and everything they went through.. such a great read

A really good change of pace

This was pretty awesome. The way it was planned came out as a really good change from the other books. Like a history lesson that ties in with the rest of the series.
