still loving Bubba.

rednecks, monsters, guns and ass whooping. everything good from the first book and more. less stand alones, and more running story line ( a plus for me ). new narrator but the same style, the change did not take away from the presentation

More, please!!!

I enjoyed this as much as the first. A great collection of stories. I loved that Skeeter got his own story! I particularly enjoyed Howl. A few people have complained about the new narrator, but I think he did a fine job. Honestly, I thought he sounded more like the Bubba I imagined when I read the shorts. It is certainly a different take on the character than the last book, but after a few minutes I fell right in step with him, and he had me laughing out loud more than once.

Great job, Mr. Hartness! Keep up the good work!

Not as good as book one.

Book 2 is good and the story is fun, but the narrator isn't the same as book 1. this narrator doesn't seem to have the same range in the different voices.

that being said, it's good to be back in the story with Bubba!

love bubba

I so love bubba and Skeeter. bubba is unapologetically southern and male. Skeeter is a wonderful friend and moral compass. the two characters are extremely different but they work well together.

Same great Bubba, even better narrator!

Fans of the series will continue to love Bubba volume 2! Audio fans don't be thrown by the change in narrator, Mr. Solo is excellent.

Bubba just can't get a break

Even while he is in the hospital, Bubba can't catch a break. Another great season of Bubba the Monster Hunter. The narrator did a fantastic job of bringing this story to life

Just a good ole boy, never meaning no harm

Season two of Bubba the Monster Hunter is arguably the best in the series (so far, we haven't finished flitting through fairyland just yet), and puts Bubba in bad way when he learns the truth about the real Big Bad Wolf. One of the best things about this series is that you get what you see when it comes to Bubba. The man has no hidden sides, and is about as shy as rabid shrew that's been on a hunger strike for twenty three hours. I'm not saying he's one dimensional, just that you get to know who Bubba is in all of about two minutes. Now, you might think that that just means he is all about guns, strip clubs, and beer, but Bubba has waaaaay more depth than that. OK, maybe not waaaaay more depth, he probably just has way more depth than that. He is fearless and honorable, has a softer side, and is intenseley loyal. He's absolutely the kind of guy you want to go to war with, and not against.

This audio is a collection of all of the season two short stories, and there is a righteous boatload of them to get through, so you really ought to buy it right now and start listening. The stories all vary, as Hartness tries to play out the old Nightstalker addage of a monster of the week kind of thing. There is an underlying theme of one particular monster that stalks Bubba up to the end of Season two, and that battle is like a bear in spiked armor fighting a shark with frikkin' laser beams on its head. It's messed up, and you have no clue as to how it's going to end, but you won't be able to look away. It is red neck vs furry neck in a winner take all battle royale that is so terrible to contemplate that even if he wins, Bubba will lose kinda deal. Blades will draw blood, Bubba will draw Bertha, and Hartness draws a line in the sand that Bubba does not want to cross!

Individually, these stories are interesting, but put them all together, and you get a giant tapestry of funny interlocking incidents that pulls Bubba ever closer to his inevitable showdown. These Bubba stories are full of laughs, and sometimes a little heartbreak. I really can't do it justice other than to say that if you haven't met Bubba, Skeeter, Amy, or Father Joe then you need to introduce yourself right quick. Pop a cold one, put on a steak, and settle in to listen to some of the best monster hunting you will ever hear.

Speaking of hearing, can I just say that Solo has to have magic powers? He can play the ultimate red neck, a sexy special agent, a gay black man, a priest, and any monster you can think of without breathing hard. His voice alone elevates the already funny lines into the territory of even funner (sorry, that is a southern jab, and I absolutely apologize for it). A man should not be allowed to have this much fun telling a story. You can just hear him smiling at some points. I really appreciate the narration.

Get this collection now, and settle in for some monster slaying fun. You will not regret it. Actually, you might if you haven't gotten the Season One collection, too. So, go get that one. Hurry up, there's monsters that need killin'. Even though I did receive a promo code for this review it in no way influenced my considerations of the material, and in fact, inspired me to be more honest. In fact, getting a code generally makes me harsher as a reviewer as I am more often concerned what someone like Me will decide based on my review.
