For 18 years, I was able to see the dead, so I pretty much managed to deal with a lot of unusual things in the world. I even learned to accept my strange, if not slightly annoying, "I see dead people" ability. But the one thing that tipped me over the edge? I can't drink coffee in the afterlife.

I know what you're thinking. Surely things can't get any worse than that? Well...I also have a rival apprentice who despises me, a quarterback ghost who won't leave me the hell alone, a sexy angel determined to take me out on a date, and a silly little crush on my new boss.

Yeah, you read that last part right. I have an aimless crush on the Grim Reaper, and no, he isn't a hooded skeleton clutching a scythe. He's a gorgeous man in a tailor-made suit and every word he utters fills me with desire... just like the others do, despite my best efforts to resist them.

interesting but cliffhanger

Interesting concept but since other books aren't out yet it's a horrible cliffhanger with all sorts of loose pieces. Main character is incredibly foolish (think harry potter lever impulsive without any training or concept of what's going on), supposedly has a heart of gold, and basically thinks like a horny teen lasting after all the attractive guys she comes across. The effect leans her to be a sort of habitual damsel in distress in a world that is interesting and could develop into a cool story...

loved the ending. the storyline/plot was great and the narration was wonderful. can’t wait for more!

I'm not sure what's worse the actual writing or the narration.

The main character reminds me of a whiney ADHD boy crazy teenage girl. She constantly complains about food, then whip lashes to how hot a guy is, to how she's so sad she is. then thinks she's the be all and grand all.

The actual narration is hard to determine if it has any quality because it seems how the book is written in short poorly written sentences. The entire book feels like it's playing at 2.0x speed.

Definitely needs better editing and development.

But Sasha

She has to be the most annoying main character I have read in the last year. Hard pass on this series.

An annoying main character

An annoying teenager who thinks she’s smarter, more able, and doesn’t need to listen to anyone because she knows best. The last sentence of the book makes you want to cheer

Absolute bullshit-

Ends in a cliff hanger mid story and there’s no book 2 and it’s been 6 years since this was released. Safe to say there’s probably not gonna be a book2.
