About this listen

Is ignoring the heat a recipe for disaster?

Grant Twombley has it all - a successful career, a contacts list full of gorgeous and willing bedmates, and the ear of Los Angeles’s most prominent captain of industry.

But being Sebastian Shark’s right-hand man isn’t without its challenges. Messy ones. Unknown forces still work to take down Shark Enterprises, and Grant’s full focus is needed to protect their empire. But he’s sitting on a scandalous secret. A truth he can’t even share with his best friend. Until disaster strikes.

Rio Gibson carries dark secrets of her own. She hides them well...until her world is shattered. She holds Shark responsible, but the only person she shares her suspicions with is also the man closest to him - the giving, gorgeous man who makes her feel so many new and surprising things. Dangerous things.

But Rio’s used to handling the heat in the kitchen, and she can handle this challenge too. Getting out simply isn’t an option - no matter how bad it’ll burn in the end.

Grant’s Heart

I felt such sadness for Rio and she has quite a long road ahead of her. Grant was amazing and strong and loyal, even when it meant challenging his oldest friend. Abbi and Bas were almost insufferable and I was so disappointed in the directions those characters were taken. Great, though quite sad, read. On to the next !

I read Grant’s Heat before I listened, so I knew what was happening when I dived in. However, I did not expect the level of emotion I would feel with how much narration intensified it. This book took hold of me from the beginning and didn’t let go all the way through. I feel Victoria took the time to get the finer details to this story correct, all too often mental health and some of the hard topics within this story are portrayed incorrectly, and this story being one that’s very close to my heart and something I can relate to, I felt she did it justice, it made for an exceptional listen, and such a captivating start to Grant & Rio crazy roller coaster of a love story. When you add in such amazing narration, like Jacob Morgan and Erin Mallon, you get this beauty, this was my most anticipated listen of 2020 and I am not disappointed. Erin tackles some major personality traits with Rio and she delivered them in such a profound and powerful way, I was completely hypnotised. Jacob play Grant as I did in my head. He plays his alpha dominant with ease, it was so easy to pair Grant inspiration in my head and Jacob’s voice. His tone was hard yet when Grant’s protective and sweet side came out, I was swooning like crazy, then add in the heat? It’s not called Grant’s Heat for nothing, they both did such an incredible job as these two and worked so well when placed together. Absolutely loved this. Highly recommend it. If you haven’t started the series with Shark’s Edge, then it’s a MUST! Erin and Jacob have nailed each book with perfection and this series has become a fast all time favourite so far!

Hold on tight, you are in for one emotionally beautiful, captivating and tragic start to a love story and it’s one hell of a ride!

I don’t agree with being left hanging with more questions than answers , I am truly disappointed with mother waste of time and credits to have being drawn out to nothingness!........

That’s it??????????

**** Spoiler **
I’m having a hard time with how the friendship between , Grant, Elijah and Sebastian is being handled. Grant and Elijah are willing lie to their best friend that’s like a brother . I feel this part could’ve been handled better without making Sebastian look like the bad guy. In the previous books it was made clear Sebastian would do anything for Grant and Elijah.

A little disappointed
