About this listen
"Love is a perilous game, especially when the person you desire belongs to someone else." (Shar, Granted)
Sabeara Aigoviel, princess of Aveladon, wants nothing more than for her heart to glow. The Stone-Hearted power that is received at the age of eighteen is her ultimate wish. With a grim curse looming over the realm and a neighboring kingdom's conspiring plans, contentions arise. Moments of danger summon evil forces, sending Sabeara into a whirlwind of adventure, captivity, and even love.
Rescued by a handsome stranger in a brown cloak, they navigate the kingdoms to bring her safely home. When her rescuer arrives betrothed to her beloved older sister weeks later, it is all she can do to erase their memories. Will Sabeara be able to defeat the curse on the Stone-Hearted race? And will she be able to forget the memories of her epic ventures with her cloaked rescuer? In this magical fairy-tale filled with passion and adventure, you will surely be hanging onto every last word.
Fans of Sara J. Maas, Kiera Cass, and Colleen Houck will adore this YA fantasy series.

ENCHANTING!
This book was amazing! I don't usually fangirl over fantasy novels and I usually am pretty removed from the story and can't relate because I don't do fantasy usually. The whole mystical animals and altered reality, and magical powers has never really done it for me. THIS BOOK IS A GAME CHANGER! I would read fantasy all day every day if all of them were like this. The stubborn main character that is moody because she is figuring out what she wants, and the flirty sassy attitude from the male character is SO relatable and I love it. I could really see myself in Sabeara and I was 100% invested into her character. The second book was even better. I have no idea how the author is cranking out these books so quickly, but I'm definitely not complaining! I just preordered book 3: Beloved, and can't wait to read it.
There are some mixed reviews on the names in the books. I actually really liked them. They fit the world that the author created. This world is magical and unknown, so I like the unconventional names. The author has a bookstagram and has a saved highlight on how to pronounce the names, which was very helpful. The audiobook also has the correct pronunciations so I appreciated that.
I liked that this book broke the mold. There were influences of lots of other novels such as divergent, wings, the selection series, matched, etc. but I like this one better. These books didn't leave me wishing anything was different, other than wishing I could binge the whole series RIGHT now, instead of waiting for the rest of the series to be released!
I primarily listened to these books on Audible, and at first I wasn't a fan of the girl reading the book, but I quickly got over that and she fit the book perfectly.
Sabeara is the main character and she is a princess. She never really fits into the world of ball gowns and parties and flattery. She always has wanted something else, but she doesn't know what she is capable of until the story progresses. The second book is when you really see Sabeara shine and come into herself which I loved. Mid is the supporting lead and male character. He is sure of himself and gallant and strong and a prince and everything a girl wants. He sees Sabeara for who she is before she knows herself (which always makes me melt). He is there to save her and protect her. She eventually goes off on her own in the second book, which I also love because it gives her a chance to find out that she is strong and capable on her own. A love triangle also develops in the second book that makes my heart happy. Both male characters are ready to fight for her, but "supposedly" give her the space to figure out who she is under the ball gowns and fluff, and as a warrioress.
Big fan! Can't wait to see what else this author has in store!

Good world building
Good listen, there were a few times the story lacked but over all the world building was nice and hopefully in the next box a few questions will be answered! Also liked how the chapters were shorter
