About this listen

In audiobook two of the Davis Sisters Adventures series, South Carolina sisters Karlie and Katherine Davis are asked to find and eliminate a group of global business leaders who conspire to destabilize the economies of the world's five largest economic countries, including the US.

Based on the Davis Sisters' success in destroying Al-Qaeda, in audiobook one, Warrior Sisters: Revenge for 911, this latest assignment seems relatively simple. It isn't! Both sisters suffer greatly, both physically and psychologically, at the hands of these evil men. In the end, good once again triumphs over evil, but the cost to Karlie and Katherine Davis prove to be enormous.

The global case of espionage and economic pandering by some of the world's richest and most influential people takes the Davis sisters across four continents and dozens of countries. Success in Goodbye Mr. Kang is measured more so in survival than end results. From the malaise of high-stakes economic and political power-playing emerges a single, mysterious face of evil: Joseph Bolling.

As the Davis sisters and their cast of friends within ATUR, a highly classified, highly secretive organization within the US Department of Defense, come of age, listeners get a glimpse of life on the seedy underbelly of global espionage, politics, and economics.

Truly a fantastic book!!

James Roberson is a talented author. The depth of which he goes into his books is amazing and the historical value of both book 1 and book 2 is beyond measure. Throughout book 1 I kept thinking to myself, 'could this have really happened like this?', and throughout book 2 I kept thinking, "I need to check this out!" because I felt I may have missed part of the Germany/WWII history. People who have imaginations like this author truly amaze me.
Now some constructive criticism...He spends too much time explaining relationships between the characters over and over and over. And, the use of the full names of the characters when they are speaking (Carly Davis Payne, for example) got a bit monotonous. As did the fact that he continually explained why Martin BoBo was using a new name.
That being said, these things did not, in any way take away from the excellence of the story.
I listened to the audio book version of this book and, as in book 1, Jennifer Gilmour is the narrator of book 2. Wow. This is one talented narrator. Her ability to create and maintain accents is beyond reproach. Her narration is continually one of storytelling. She is not, in any way, 'reading' this book. Because of the talent of the Author and the Narration, I downloaded and listened to 10 1/2 hours of this book in 3 day's time. I want more!

Davis Sisters Adventures

Goodbye Mr. Kang was a decent listen albeit a long listen. It was adventuresome with a lot of action going on. There were a few times I felt lost but otherwise I enjoyed the story. The Davis Sisters, Karlie and Katharine were interesting characters and there were many other supporting characters as well with distinct personalities. There was definitely a lot of globetrotting and economic pandering. The DOD in this story was a little frightening. This is book two in this series and I didn't listen to book one however I think it's okay as a stand alone. Overall I thought it was quite good just a hair too long. James Roberson is a new author for me and I may go back and check out book one.

Jennifer Gilmour did an amazing job narrating this story. She had excellent vocal skills with all the different characters that had accents. It was pretty awesome. I'll listen to her again as well.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Not for me

I have not read/listened to the first book, but I did not feel like a was missing anything.
My problem with this book is that I found some of things in here hard to believe and I did not feel a connection with the characters. I don't know if this is because I did not read the first book, or if it was the characters themselves.
However, this is my opinion, others might like it more than I did.
