About this listen

"God is not in control, but He is in charge." -Bill Johnson

The moment we said yes to Jesus, we were invited to transition from sinner to saint, from orphan to son, from lost to found, from law to grace, from slave to free, and from a theology of control to a theology of love....

"The opposite of love is not fear, it's control." -Donald Miller

With grace and wisdom, Jason writes about two narratives on the planet, two ways by which to know God; control or love.

"God is sovereign, and God is in control are two different thoughts, they are two totally different things." -Todd White

Jason highlights how a theology of sovereign control compromises God's goodness and positions humanity in the most desperate of insecurities.

"The belief that God controls everything that happens to us is one of the devil's biggest inroads into our lives." -Andrew Wommack

This audiobook is an invitation to grow sure in God's sovereign love and transition from fear, insecurity and striving into trust, intimacy, and freedom.

"If God was in control, you wouldn't have any freedom, you'd be controlled." -Graham Cooke

God Is (Not) In Control is saturated with revelation. It shines with the goodness of God. This book's message will encourage:

  • Those who are hungry to understand and experience authentic encounters with God's love.
  • Those who desire to be set free from anxiety, insecurity, and fear.
  • Those who's relationships have been marked by control instead of love.
  • Those who have struggled with the question of hell and pain in light of God's goodness and love
  • Those seeking greater understanding regarding how God's Kingdom works here on Earth.

Sovereign Love

I personally met and fell in love with Jesus from a very young age. I don’t remember a time when I’ve not walked with him, Holy Spirit and the father.
I was raised by them outside the walls of the church.
It wasn’t until I entered the Pentecostal church that I began to have my childlike heart connection greatly assassinated by religion.
I could not gel with so many things I heard that I knew were not truth or twisted theologies of truth. I left that church long ago on a word from the Lord. It was then he took me much deeper into the revelation of heaven and sonship.
This book is like water to the soul. I don’t read many books but I’ve listened to this again and again as the deep cries out to deep sovereign love of God emanates out of every word. I’ve spent years trying to get free from the lies and wounds of peoples actions and words in the church. I had mostly done that except the child heart who knows and knew the heart of the Father, who does what it sees its father doing, had a wound I could not identify.

This book gives emancipation from the destruction of religious theology.

I highly applaud this authors boldness to keep speaking truth for the sake of love and freedom.
I’ve spent many years doing the same and as a female in a predominately patriarchal church society, that is not received well by people looking for demons in others. We keep speaking because nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus. Nothing.

Thank you for this beautiful book kindred spirit! Yeshua is the most beautiful of beauties.
I encourage anyone who is struggling with identity issues from religion to listen to this book and immerse in it. Drink the truths. Swim in the freedom of sovereign love. The love is overwhelming and beautiful as it always should be.

Truly he hit the nail on the head and if you know something is wrong with many of the things you’ve heard…. Listen to this truth and see what it brings.

Narration is Too Slow

The narrator seemed to be trying so hard to enunciate and read the book so slowly that I had to change speed. This made his speech clipped and annoying. I quit listening at chapter 8... it was all I could take...and got a hard copy to just read myself. Sorry, Jason, you were 100% better at reading your other books. (I've listened to most all of the others.) You might think of redoing this one in your normal speaking voice that you use on the podcast, Rethinking God with Tacos. 🤗
