Book 2 made me love Mia and Adam even more!!!

Giving up For You is Book 2 in L.M. Carr's The Giving Trilogy. It picks up where book one left off, so it should definitely be read in order. It is just addictive as the first, so be warned. You will not wan to put this book down until it end...and then you will be on to the final part of the trilogy before you know it.

There is no doubt that Adam Lawson Loves Mia Delaney. He will to anything to protect her. He will do anything to protect those he loves, even at a detrimental cost to himself. Their combustible love has no bounds.

I do not want to give anything about this book away, but I will say I was completely enamored with these amazing characters and I devoured this book to find out what would happen next.

PS - Tracy Marks and Thomas Donohoe do a fantastic job of narrating this story. Their performance only enhances L.M. Carr's brilliance as an author. I could not get enough of this book.

Giving Up For You

Continuing to enjoy Mia and Adam’s story. This one started off a bit different than what I was expecting. But I don’t want to spoil anything so I won’t say as much about the storyline for this installment. We do get some chapter’s from Adam’s POV and honestly I would have liked a few more to get what he was thinking at certain points. But I think the author may have been doing that on purpose so you continue to wonder, just like Mia. We eventually get what he was thinking and his reasons. Things seem to be moving in the right direction but then we get another cliffhanger. On to book three.

Again the narration by Tracy Mark was perfect, I don’t think I’ve heard Thomas Donohoe before but he was good as well.

A good read, brilliantly performed.

Which character – as performed by Tracy Marks and Thomas Donohoe – was your favorite?

Both narrators performed Mia and Adam really well. I loved the dual narration and felt that it worked very well here.

Any additional comments?

I loved the first book and couldn't wait to dive into this one. The story was a little bit slow but at the same time I couldn't switch it off and ended up listening at every opportunity. I was expecting a little bit of intrigue or suspense but the story centred round Mia and Adam's break up and its aftermath. Adam has turned into quite an unlikable character and acts like a total ass to Mia and the children. He has much to do to convince Mia (and the reader) that he truly loves her and isn't going to leave when the going gets tough.

I love the scenes that involve any of Mia's friends. She has a great group of friends who stick by her and stand up for her when the need arises. They are also quite funny and add a little bit of humour to the story.

I am quite addicted to this series and I have to know what happens next. Book 3 here I come.

Adam and Mia cont'd

In book one, we experience the whirlwind romance...okay the chase. The chase, the frustration, and the fight to stay away from each other. In this book, we have a whole new kind of whirlwind. With tears streaming down my face, I felt the agony and despair. It was hard not to cry.

Call me a sap. Call me a wuss. But whatever you do, don't let me anywhere near Adam Lawson. Mrs. Longo and I will tear him apart.

I can't wait for book three. I need to know what happens!!!

Giving up for you

This is a really good series. I am not sure how you can get over heart break like that though. It would be so tough for me to forgive Adam. And we are left with a cliffhanger again, but not a bad one this time. I look forward to the next book. I love how audible brings it to life.

Oh Mia.

This book picks up right where the last left off and we are once again placed in Mia and Adam's world.

While I was head over heels in love with book 1, I was left a little frustrated with this book. 65% of it is misunderstandings and Mia and Adam not saying what they are thinking, therefore everything is taken the wrong way and more misunderstandings occurred. I wish there would have been more of the mystery and drama with the crime family Adam was involved with, just a little more meat.

That being said, LM Carr is a fantastic author who has made me a believer and I will listen or read whatever she writes about Adam and Mia because I am so addicted to these characters. Mia is a strong female who has been hurt in ways that has shaped her into a very guarded person, so it is no wonder that she doesn't trust Adam with the truth. And Adam has his head so far up his rear, he is going to need Mia to hold his hand through a relationship. He doesn't catch Mia's cues and never just says what he should.

I can't wait to read or listen to book 3. I will be honest, I can't wait until book 3 comes out in audio to finish the trilogy, so I'm going to download it now to find out how their story ends.

Gaahhhhh

This was agony, but in a good way. I couldn't put it down while waiting to see how and when she would tell him. OMG and then the cliffhanger. Gah. the suspense is already killing me and I just finished the book. Ah-Maz-Ing!

A real rollercoaster ride!

This book starts exactly where the other ended and I really enjoyed listening to this book. This story has so many ups and downs that i couldn't stop listening it!

The book has all the elements to make it a great story: suspense, romance, angst, great characters and a huge cliffhanger! Adam and Mia are wonderful characters and I felt as if I really knew them.

The narrators did a great job and I loved that I could listen to both sides of the story.

I really enjoyed this story!

Suspense to the Max.

This second book of the "Giving Series" picks up exactly where book one ends. If you think you are going to get a respite from the mystery and suspense in this book then think again. You feel as if you are blind folded on the tallest roller coaster with unending twists and turns. Honestly, after I finished this book, I went and bought the Kindle edition of book three because I couldn't stand the torture. Lol. And now, after finishing book 3 I can now say that all the torture was worth it.

I can't say enough about the narration of Tracy Marks. She truly makes these books come alive. This book also included the narration of Thomas Donohoe for Adams POV. Although he did a great job, because he wasn't included in book one, I already had a different voice for Adam in my "Minds Ear". So he didn't sound like my Adam. Lol

Note: This book has explicit sex and very strong language. Adults only. I would also like to say that I think this series was good enough on its own and truly didn't need all the sex or strong language. It would have been just as good.
