A horrifying encounter at an isolated tower signals the dawn of her torment. The governess witnesses the apparition of a stranger identified as the malevolent Peter Quint, the dead former valet. As events unfold, the frightening presence of Quint and Miss Jessel, their previous governess also unfortunately deceased, seems to having been branding their spectral influence on the innocent children to a dizzying extent.
