The Truth Distilled

This is delightfully similar to another comedic retelling of the Bible called “God is disappointed in you.” First: the narration fits——the reading demands a kind of whimsical, light, straightforward reading of absurd and atrocious events. The light and fun delivery, set against dark themes, works.

At its core, this book is just a funny and simple distillation of biblical events, many of them rather cruel in their contents. When bad ideas present, simply rephrasing them in another way, and especially a simple way, can help the scales fall off the eyes.

The Bible is absurd, and this book shows you why.
